Is there an easy way to get the market cap of multiple indexes? Obviously, if I wanted the S&P 500 market cap I would just have to sum up the 500 companies that make up the index. But is there an easier way I can see the daily change of the market cap? I'm interested in watching multiple indexes' market caps. Thanks in advance.

Watching the %daily change in market cap is no different than watching the %daily change in stock price.

Thanks xandman. Where would I get this information? Are you talking about the % daily change of the index itself?

I think basically he is saying it's meaningless to get the cap of the market.

Well I don't necessarily think that's true. For everyday market watching it doesn't matter too much but I'm trying to test a hypothesis of mine, in which knowing the change of market caps of indexes day to day is crucial.

Keep an eye on %daily change
