Hello Everyone I have been trading for 12 years. I have finally become profitable for the last 2 years after learning about portfolio management and hedging tactics. My general approach is Global Macro (Long/Short) and it includes Stocks, Futures, and Forex. I finally cleaned up my multiple accounts and created 1 account (Interactive Brokers/IB) in Mid 2014, for the purpose of tracking my performance. This account is available for audit, if and when required, hopefully after fellow Speculators see my Performance and Risk profile and like it I will share my performance using the IB's Portfolio reporting's Risk Measures Benchmark Comparison (which is attached). The full report will be available for auditing for serious parties. QUESTION: Which forum would be the best for sharing my performance in an effort to get interest from other Speculators? this one? other web sites better? My current performance as seen in attached PDF page for the period Sep 1, 2014 - Feb 4, 2015 is Return: 30% Sharpe Ratio: 3.57 Sortino Ratio: 6.12 Calmar Ratio: 28.18 Thank you and appreciate your help.
Thank you I have sent them email, although I believe they would not be interested in performance only 6 months old and from a independent account. Lets see
If you are serious about starting a hedgefund. Incorporate one now. And put your funds in that. Start treating it like a fund now (where you are the client). it will be easier to onboard new clients and it will provide confidence that the performance and trading style presented will continue.
google incubator funds. your other option is to not go the hedge fund route but instead do separately managed accounts.
Another option is to list your system on c2pro.com. A Interactive Brokers history import/real time copy feature will soon be available.
I tried launching a fund a few years ago unsuccesufully, and here is some of my learnings. Don't expect 'incubators' to take notice unless you have a pedigree. If you are really serious, and have time to commit to raising money, here is what I recommend: 1) Form a domestic fund, and fund it with your retail account. 2) Talk to friends and family first about investing. Get as much money as you can to properly fund your strategy. 3) Log your returns with several databases, and get an audit. 4) Choose an attorney and an accountant. Think long term relationships. 5) If you continue to perform well, promote your fund by contacting family office, and high net worth investors yourself. 6) Watch out for third party marketers as many will prey on small funds. This is a very long and difficult journey. You may want to consider alternatives such as prop trading, but that is up to you.
