Hi, I trade thru Multicharts. Since the internet connection I have at home is not the most reliable I would like to explore rent a remote PC to run my strategies and execute my trades. Can someone suggest a service provider? I found Amazon Web Services (AWS) randomly, is it a good option considering my objectives? Thanks, Brian
Aren't you ultimately still relying on your home internet connection in order to access the remote PC?
yes, i will only need to switch on the software at the remote PC, which means my connection doesnt need to be perfect.
I see. AWS will certainly work. It's been a while since I've checked out their pricing. Here's another one to consider: https://www.atlantic.net/vps/windows-vps-hosting/ Their hardware runs on solid state drives, which is pretty cool.
I colo to Chicago as I am in Toronto [eh!]. I wouldn't go back to trading from my desktop. I like to RDP in from my handheld from anywhere. We have fiber up here, but my algo-trading is doing 12% better on fill quality than orders sent my office. My only concern is a provider sniffing my algo.
I will let other make a choice. For me., I think AWS works well. I have an AWS instance that I use to run my simple app i developed for myself on the Tradier API. . The advantage I get is that If i loose my home connectivety or I am not at home and the app still runs. I can access it from anywhere. I developed a simple crude also for myself on the API. It runs well. Please note that I am using a Linux Server, while you may be looking at a windows server, but do not see a reason why it does not work
