Hi, as the thread title says, I'm in need of a realtime or neartime list of say top 50 or more advancing and declining (on a % basis based on yesterday's close) stock symbols (US), to be downloaded every 5 minutes. Anyone know of such a free or cheap service? Thx.
cheapest would be to open an IB account and listen for top 50 advancers/decliners. Downloading a realtime stream doesnt make sense. maybe a snapshot is what you're thinking
Yes, I indeed was meaning a snapshot downloaded every 5 minutes, not streaming. I need it for automatic processing by my program. I can convert the data to the format it needs. I guess the IB solution cannot be used for this, or can it?
I think I'll do the list myself by grabbing RT data from freely available sources on the net... The AmiBroker program (actually via the companion program AmiQuote) can update about 7000 tickers in less than a minute, so I'll either use that or do the same in my own program... I wanted avoid exactly that scenario of downloading quotes of all US stocks, and instead use a ready-made list with just about only 100 rows (ticker, chg% etc.), but such lists seem to require paid membership ($25/month etc.) --> forget it!...
