Crypto Trading

  1. Just thinking worst case here to asses risk, I think the SEC could come up with some bogus and go after the curators which include a lot of the ethereum devs. Or like you said somehow go after the contractors as well. That would be a scenario.

My theory is that people are selling ETH on other exchanges to move to Coinbase ahead of the 3 PM EST launch. That and margin longs are getting sold off. This might be a good short term buying op.

So waves is now completed. From the trading on yobit, the scammiest exchange known to man, I'm currently a millionaire off this trade!

Lisk was trading at 30+ multiples on yobit prior to opening. I managed to get around two thirds out at a 4x ico price. So maybe this yobit nonsense rally is a good thing for the open of waves.

The DAO has been a disappointment. Trading around 10% below NAV, I realised it wouldn't be a quick off the bat multiple return, but to be trading below the sum of all the eth put into it doesn't make sense. I can only speculate that the average investor wanted to flip it on open, expecting multiple returns on investment on a 150m pool of cash.... Not gonna happen.

I thought it would be an amplified ETH, instead it's an anaemic ETH in a crowded trade filled with punters. I haven't exited any yet, this BTC rally has caught me off guard.

I think this is somewhat the 'golden age of ico's' . I've been lucky to get in early, but due to the success recently I imagine a bunch of scammer cockroaches are slowly being brought to the surface.

Take www.etheroll.com , I could be wrong but there are several factors there that cry bullshit in my head. It's one of many. Multiple returns will be significantly more difficult in the future.

However some truly great ideas will emerge. This is a great space to be in right now. I've achieved since late October 2014 around an 800% return on total investment on my crypto portfolio. It really doesn't take much effort to read into some of these projects and have a go. It takes maybe 5 hours of reading to have an edge over the majority of market participants. Get on it! And report back here, the more eyes the better :)

Yobit was reset. The price is much lower than the $50 plus original price. Bloombit was trading at about $1.40 the last I checked. Sasha, the Waves founder, has said that these proxy markets are BS.

The interviews with Tai Zen on youtube were pained at times, but there is a lot of a good info. I'm looking forward to real trading to begin on about June 15. I went in cautiously w/ 3.5 BTC or about $2,000. We'll see how it goes. The official info is being dumped on https://wavesplatform.slack.com/messages/general/.

As per the DAO, I went in at the original level and dumped as soon as I got my Gatecoin (doh!) tokens. I cleared a very small amount. If I could've flipped them as soon as most other people, the returns would have been 10% plus. My problem with the DAO is there aren't any finalized projects yet. One can always buy later when developments become more crystalized.

I am happy you brought these ICOs up Wings. I find it a lot of fun. I haven't followed bitcointalk or been interested in an ICO in years. GLTA and stay safe.

Talks of a 10% return are entirety in hindsight! We both know we aren't getting into this for a 10% return.

I saw a 10% return and laughed at it, thinking it was only confirming my view of a substantial premium .. evidently not. We're risking our entire stake here, 10% isn't worth it.

I put all my lisk and dgd profits into waves (plus some more) so I'm backing it. Based on current demand and hype, I want to exit half at a 100% gain. Could screw up, feel pretty confident though.

Keep me up to date with any ico's' that you come across m1nt

I got out at it seemed like 0.000238 which worked out to my initial investment plus a few satoshi. It was at 0.000265 plus a little for a couple of hours after opening, so my math is off. Sorry.

I'm not sure how I trade Waves when it opens. It depends what is done before the 14th and what price it opens. Note: Sasha has stated that he might use the extra funds beyond his development budget to create a "buy wall" at the ICO price. If it opens higher, I'll take out my investment and let the rest ride. Lower? Maybe there is a failure to execute or a major issue and I probably dump. Up significantly? Take out some more along the way and let it ride.

It is in Sasha's best interest to promote Waves and make partnerships in a timely manner rather than just dump his ICO stake at the outset and not deliver. Plus, the funds are held in escrow with the founder of Mycelium.

It might be a new paradigm. Soon, people will be able to invest in kickstarter type events worldwide and use smart contracts to exit those investments and then trade them in secondary markets. Exciting times indeed.

    I missed your post.

IMO, the biggest threat would be a brain drain or legal action against well-known developers that are easy to locate. Regulators could go after the Ethereum Computer contractor. Once it is built, it will be global and open source. In theory, they could go after everyone with DAO tokens on a US exchange or an exchange they had access to. It would seem like an epic waste of time and resources, but, of course, if Ethereum did something stupid like create a DAO Silk Road you never know.
