no--hedging chokes off profits when right.

 

I use them all the time and I don't look at it as loss of profits at all, I look at it as overall position. Since in Long Term trading, I often only right 7-15% of my original trades, so hedging is a must.

 

Selling 207 spy calls sept expiration.

Targeting 100% returns.

Max risk 1:1 ie premium doubled.

 

Do you trade against the short calls at all or just let them ride?

 

I daytrade stocks up and down as setups manifest, better volatility there, easier to let winners run.
