I recently came across ThinkBack by ThinkOrSwim - I like the idea of going back in time and exploring, but I would also love to hear in what situations other people use it and how it fits into your decision-making process.
Also, any examples where it helped you make a better decision are highly appreciated!

  2. first it has end of day option chains, so like last October the mkt was stretched to the downside
you could see what x option trade looks like and where vols were at, also helpful for understanding earnings, vol collapse. On their website is basic demo, this is assuming you have some understanding of delta, theta and some basic strategies. For example selling a called spread on AMZN at the close yesterday would have gotten you killed.
not sure if these links are any good.

  3. For simple trading strategies (needing only daily closing prices), it is quick and easy. The PnL graph is handy.

You may wish to take a peek at OnDemand in TOS, for more control and detail.

I used it to practice ES for the years I didn't trade. Was helpful.

  5. I am trying to use it for ES but I can never get it to work right. Glad to hear it's useful when it does. Maybe I will call TD and get this fixed.

  6. I called and it turns out you have to trade the contract for the time period you are trading in, and you can't just trade off of the rolling contract symbol /es

    MatijaSh and erikig like this.
