This should be pretty interesting to say the least. I'm curious to see how revealing his identity is going to affect the price of BTC.

Come on now, we have already killed this silly idea 3 months ago. I am willing to give 5 to 1 odds if anyone is betting type here.

And why the fuck this needs to be revealed in a scheduled manner? Just sell 10K bitcoins or sign an email with the PGP key although an intelligent conversation is even better proof...

Hey, I can even do technotalk:

"But the keys also come with a field of metadata which is the "preferred hashing algorithm". New versions of GnuPG added a few new SHA-2 algos and dropped RIPEMD160. Satoshi's "well known key" used an older version of GnuPG as the key contains metadata showing that it prefers these older hashing algorithms. The key from the articles was supposedly created within one day of the other key, but it's hashing algos are from a GnuPG that came out much later (I forget exactly when this code was branched in but perhaps ~1 year later)."

It is called an advanced fee fraud. :)

"During the last few months Craig and his accomplices have been very active quietly networking in the Bitcoin industry. Their pitch: Craig is the real thing and the press got it wrong. Their elaboration on the details would lower your IQ to hear it, so I won't bore you with it-- needless to say, few who are thinking critically and understand the technology would believe it and that's probably the point: it's a filter. If you do listen long enough you find out that Craig, earnest creator of Bitcoin, and true heir to a MILLION BTC apparently has some procedural issues with a trust securing his funds, which could all be resolved with a bit of money-- but unfortunately, the evil dictators controlling his country have frozen all of his money... and that's where you come in dear reader. You see, he just needs a bit of money to complete the paperwork to obtain the coins, and-- of course-- secure safe passage to freeer lands..."

    from the comments:

' I want to be left alone'

Mr Wright has revealed his identity to three media organisations - the BBC, the Economist and GQ.

.....yup, that's the best way to avoid the spotlight.

    --------------------------------------

The only credible witness involved in this farce, Gavin Andresen has had his GitHub privileges revoked for Bitcoin Core - most likely he has been hacked.

    -----------------------------------------

Unless a signed message is publicly published or a few hundred BTC satochis are sent from Nakamoto's bag holding to a prominent Bitcoin figure (or anyone for that matter) this is not newsworthy.

    The plot thickens....

I am increasing my offer, 20 to 1 odds that this asshole conman is running a fraud.

'joukeH discovered that the signature on Craig Wright's blog post is not a signature of any "Sartre" message, but just the signature inside of Satoshi's 2009 Bitcoin transaction. It absolutely doesn't show that Wright is Satoshi, and it does very strongly imply that the purpose of the blog post was to deceive people.

So Craig Wright is once again shown to be a likely scammer. When will the media learn?"

do you have any evidence he isn't, or someone else is...?

if your bet is still on, can wager bitcoins?

    Let's see the evidence:

    1. Common sense.
    2. The guy is a fraudster, I think he bought his Dr. from an online university.
    3. He was discredited previously.
    4. If you watch the 5 mins video, he comes across as an immodest prick.
    5. If you read the reddit link, so far none of his evidence stood scrutiny.

Other than those, no I don't have any evidence... But I bet you 1 Bitcoin against your 1 Ethereum, making it 22 to 1!

This is from my fav subreddit r/buttcoin. You can guess what the major topic of the sub is, anyhow one of the most hilarious threads of all time:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Buttcoin/comments/4hhoiq/have_we_been_overrun_by_butters_or_do_my_fellow/

    Best quote:

"I mean, just look at that picture. That motherfucker just conned 2 of the most "respected" news organizations (and the Economist) into putting a "GQ" pose of his grinning mug in front of a giant pile of bullshit he just fed them."

If you forgot who Craig is:

"This is the same guy who made up a fake supercomputer, made up numerous companies and then created millions in related party transactions in an attempt to defraud the Australian government, made up a story about how he purchased "bitcoin banking" software from German multinational Seimens from convicted fraudster Mark Ferrier for millions in bitcoin, made ridiculous claims about his personal credentials, was caught editing old blog posts to add "clues" that "proved" he was Satoshi, and now have "revealed" the truth not by simply moving the original bitcoins but by posting a signature that the butters claim to have proven false."
