  1. Says the idiot conservative. Your opinion is worth less than what Scalia now thinks.

No doubt. The question is does he appoint one who sails right through (Elizabeth Warren?) or one that will require more of a battle.

  5. Hey . . .slow down with Mr Wallet , he's a senior citizen,

it's no secret republicans want to appoint judges who will do as they say rather than those who will try to interpret the constitution.

  6. This is what Cruz tweeted ,

"Justice Scalia was an American hero. We owe it to him, & the Nation, for the Senate to ensure that the next President names his replacement," Cruz tweeted.

  7. Would need Senate confirmation, so shouldn't be an "asap" process. May not be until the next administration.

What a joke, the exact opposite is true. Hillary and Bernie are the ones with their "litmus tests" for prospective judicial appointments.

  9. Ginsburg statement:
"Toward the end of the opera Scalia/Ginsburg, tenor Scalia and soprano Ginsburg sing a duet: “We are different, we are one,” different in our interpretation of written texts, one in our reverence for the Constitution and the institution we serve. From our years together at the D.C. Circuit, we were best buddies. We disagreed now and then, but when I wrote for the Court and received a Scalia dissent, the opinion ultimately released was notably better than my initial circulation. Justice Scalia nailed all the weak spots—the “applesauce” and “argle bargle”—and gave me just what I needed to strengthen the majority opinion. He was a jurist of captivating brilliance and wit, with a rare talent to make even the most sober judge laugh. The press referred to his “energetic fervor,” “astringent intellect,” “peppery prose,” “acumen,” and “affability,” all apt descriptions. He was eminently quotable, his pungent opinions so clearly stated that his words never slipped from the reader’s grasp.

Justice Scalia once described as the peak of his days on the bench an evening at the Opera Ball when he joined two Washington National Opera tenors at the piano for a medley of songs. He called it the famous Three Tenors performance. He was, indeed, a magnificent performer. It was my great good fortune to have known him as working colleague and treasured friend."

I would think that if someone as far left as Ginsburg can be civil, it shouldn't be all that difficult for everyone else. Alas, that's not where we're at in this country. From the keyboard warriors, the media, and the highest levels of government, hate and contempt rules the day. I've said it before and I see nothing different occurring to change my mind. America is on a very bad path and there's no way this turns out well for us.
RIP Mr. Scalia. Your life had purpose, and in a world full of posers and pretenders it comes as no surprise the smallest among us will take a parting shot.
