I have an account in Interactive brokers. I also have a pair trading strategy where the legs in the pair have very big daily volume and sometimes very big volatility.

I think IB Smart routing for the pair trading is not suitable for such pairs, because reacts slowly when the spread reaches levels for buy or for sell and often misses the opportunity for a deal. But the second and the biggest problem is when the volatility is high => then IB smart routing execute the second leg at very unacceptable price with a market order.

To fix the problems probably I need a HFT and I want to try algos in a pair trading. I saw that IB offers Jefferies algos for the pair trading => https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/tws/jeffalgostop.htm

Unfortunately, the description of Jefferies pairs algos is very poor and I can't handle with it. /for example - I don't know how to make the Pair ID? and where I can describe the second leg of the pair? /

Could someone help me with a manual or with some examples for Jefferies pairs algos in IB?

/I asked IB about more detailed description for the algos but they told me to ask Jefferies. From Jefferies nobody answers .../

Does someone have other ideas or suggestions that could help me?

  2. Google Jefferies / algo / quant / whatever, find the relevant players, email them. Jefferies addresses are of the form first initial last name at jefferies dot com.

Thank you for your reply, but I already have done such researches without any success. I thought may be some traders here, who already have used the Jefferies algos, will share the experience ...

You replied to an old thread...

Pairs trading is about making use of temporary weaknesses between highly correlated instruments:

For more info just google the term.
