I'm curious to know which component(s) are most commonly repaired/replaced on refurb units. Is there any way you can tell?

  3. In my experience, the most common component to fail is the optic drive... followed by RAM/PSU. Of all the "refurbs" sold by manufacturer outlets, having to replace a failed part is only about 15-20% of the ones offered as "refurbished".

  4. Probably.

If your case is "SFF", you'll likely need a "half-height" card. If mini tower, any quad will fit.

  6. Make an account at fatwallet.com. Then go to https://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/ look under computers. Sign up for alerts etc. or just look for current deals. I post deals here if a) I get an email from them + b) I happen to be paying attention + c) I could be bothered to post it here for whatever reason :D
