Hi RT, Sorry for not replying sooner, but I just noticed your post. Yes, FXCM has clients trading successfully on both DD and NDD. The table in my previous post comparing both options can help you determine which execution offering is best for you: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=3900030#post3900030
Hi Jago, FXCM is looking into offering smaller lot sizes on our CFDs for oil, metals and stock indices. While I don't have specific dates for you yet, I'll post more details when I have them in our discussion thread: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=3897726#post3897726 Jason
Hi Jason, can you please provide with some more specifics about how DD works? Please, bear with me.I mean, there are a lot of FX brokers. How does it look like technically? Many people complain, that with some brokers, the money even doesn`t go into the interbank market, even though you see on your platform that your connected to the ''real live account''.Is that sort of manipulation possible? If so,how do i control it?Also, how do find out if the brokes is DD,if it doesn`t reveal? thanks!
A broker that uses DD execution may actively be taking a position in the market, which exposes the firm to market risk. When you are long, the DD broker may be short. When you are short, the DD broker may be long. So your losses can equate to the DD broker's profit. Alternatively, your profits can equate to the DD broker's loss. Certain strategies expose DD brokers to more risk, such as automated strategies or strategies that trade at a high frequency. To better manage their market risk, some DD brokers actively intervene in their clients' trading by re-quoting orders. Re-quotes are when a DD broker rejects your order and instead quotes you a worse price. They do this to avoid taking loss on the other side of your trade if the market moves in your favor. If a broker re-quotes you, that's a sign they are operating a dealing desk. There are no re-quotes at FXCM even though we offer both DD and NDD execution. That's because if you are trading on our DD execution and your trading style exposes us to more risk than we're comfortable with, we may change your execution type to NDD. This is how FXCM can comfortably offer both options without having to resort to re-quoting our clients as can occur with other brokers on their DD execution.
MT4 is as far as I can tell fine for the retail trader. The one HUGE problem with it is that you have to exit all your positions in a symbol in a stop loss or stop gain. There is no scaling in or out which is problematical. If they fixed that, it would be perfectly usable.
