Question about consecutively placing orders at CQG ( experts pls help)

Discussion in 'Automated Trading' started by orangelam, Nov 14, 2015.

  1. Anyone knows how to ask CQG to place an order on a synthetic spread after filling a first order?
For example, first place an long order at price 1.5 and after filling this order, automatically place another long order at price 1.6, which must be placed after filling the first order.

I cannot find similar automation in CQG. If it cannot be done by existing feature, any other methods can achive this?

    Thank you so much!

  3. hi rmorse, thanks for your suggestion. However, i found that it cannot be used in synthetic spread and only enabled in outrights. for synthetic spreads, do you know how?

No. The best thing to do is call CGQ support. They are very helpful. I used an order type many years ago called Order Triggers Order (OTO), but I don't see that in their manual.

  5. Thanks, i will ask their support.
Do you remember whether the OTO can be used in synthetic spread and how many times it can be triggered? did they disable this function? Coz even i can't find this type of order in cqg. Hope there is another alternative.

Sorry, I was not clear. It was many years ago and it was on a retail futures platform. I did not try it on spreads, I used it to scalp. I thought it was a common order type, but can't easily find it.

xandman-If you are reading this, can you do that on CME Direct?
