Looking for a FX/CFD broker with a $5k deposit

  1. So I have looked into Interactive brokers and Oanda and both are exceptional brokers but IB requires minimum $10,000 USD and Oanda has a vigorous application process which got rejected in my case. I apparently cannot open an account with them anymore and have to look for an alternative. I would really appreciate for some advice on good brokers as there aren't many.

I am looking to trade the following:

    Indices CFD ( S&P, Nasdaq, etc )
Foreign Exchange ( Major /minor pairs)
Oil and commodities ( WTI/ Brent, natural gas, etc)

I am day trading, sometimes holding my trades overnight, and at times i am in and out of a trade in 30 minutes so spread should be decent enough, same with leverage.

I am in Canada so there are a few restrictions with a few brokerages and possibly prefer a broker in Europe, Australia, US, Canada.

Oanda UK. I use it and it's great.
Edit: just noticed you mentioned Oanda. Why not try with them? I was fine with their account applicant process.

  9. Thank you! I was looking into AxiTrader, HotForex and ActivTrades based on your recommendation.. Hotforex isn't available to Canadians and AxiTrader is bad with slippage. ActivTrades has had issues of their own in the past but recent reviews say they're doing better now. I am thinking of starting a small account with them and test the waters. Have you had any issues with them with withdrawals?

  10. ActivTrades seems good. I have been trying out their platform and might make a small deposit to see how good they are with withdrawals, and live accounts, etc.
