So, 48 hours have passed since the wire transfer to the GBP account and funds have not been credited to my AMP account. Have dropped AMP an email asking them if they can assist.

Yes, without sending as a SWIFT, the deposit will not reach BMO Harris Bank N.A. – CHICAGO, USA.

AMP Funds department will work with you and your bank to see if the wire can be amended in order to complete the transfer.

Next time, please use the same transfer method that resulted in "Credited same-day - bank had spooked us, AMP were right and we have a solution for future domestic wire deposits. Pays to work with a broker :) Thank you AMP."

Ok, thanks AMP for the update and thanks for helping me get this particular transfer sorted.

Noted for next time to use the international SWIFT method though it costs about $30 in bank charges per wire for us and we have to go into a branch to do it since it isn't enabled by default via Internet Banking.

If you ever revisit your payment arrangements then please take into consideration that the previous method was a lot more convenient for your UK clients since we were able to make deposits for free and could do so electronically via online banking.

Well AMP told me to talk to my bank. My bank had told me to talk to whoever owns the UK account where the funds were deposited (I think BMO). So I called BMO in the US, they told me they'd help but I have to go back to AMP (which I've done).

I seriously feel bad that it's taking so much effort to track this down and solve this problem. Anyway, I'll see what AMP come back with.

  5. I sent £0.01 test amount to sort 600004 and account # 10013067 and it left my account. It is an account hat exists somewhere but i do not unerstand what happens to funds that go there. your bank should be able to recall the funds. I only sent £0.01 so didnt worry about recalling it! In the end i had to send to their USD account whch was annoying as meant i was taking my account into USD$ and also involved more fees to send the money. The money did arrive with AMP within minutes though which was impressive.

Thanks @trade2win - I should have done the same as you with a £0.01 test deposit; mine was significantly greater!

Banks can't recall Faster Payments transfers. My bank is certain the money is in the account with sort-code: 600004 and number: 10013067 and I'm fairly sure its a BMO account. So I'm left having to ask AMP to speak to BMO directly.

With a bit of luck and a bit of help this'll get resolved.

Did you ever managed to get this resolved? I am UK based and looking to send money to AMP in GBP but currently it's looking like i have to do an international payment via SWIFT/IBAN and incur at 10GBP fee whilst having to wait 5 days for it to be processed.. When they used to use JP morgan they gave out the sort code and bank account number and i could transfer free of charge within the same day!

Any resolution on this? Did you avoid making an international payment and incurring those bank fees?

Can anyone tell me how long a GBP wire transfer to AMP takes to show up in your account? I sent a wire transfer on Thursday (Thanks Giving Day) which left my account on Friday. Today (Tuesday), it is still not showing in my AMP account. I have called them to chase it but it just asks you to leave a message and they will call back. I did that, and they still haven't called back.

We post funds to our customers accounts the same day they are received. If we have not received the funds, we have no access to any of the banking details. Please have your bank run a trace on the transfer.
