How can I automatically setup IB Gateway with Ninjatrader 7

    Hi Warcious,

    I've came across with this interesting post, and after seen how RedDuke helped you out to set the connection with IB Gateway, I'd like to have a little help here:

    1. I'm IB client with Ninjatrader, but when I go into IB website to look for the right IBGateway download, I can't find it cause it leads me automatically to TWS downloads. Could you please tell where can I find the IB-Gateway download?

    2. I see you use port 7496, I thought it was 4001, so I have a doubt if this can give me further problems with my automated trading?

    IB Gateway is automatically installed when you install TWS. Just look under programs->IB

    Hello Red Duke, sorry for placing a question a long time after these messages... but I am trying many things to connect NT7 with IB-Gateway and I can not do it... I have followed what you guays have written here and I receive the following error message (see attached). Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    I'm not expert as Red Duke, but following his simple instructions, it worked.

    Perhaps you should do a fresh install of the latest NT7 7.0.1000.38 and the last IB-Gateway stable version 963.3o. here: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=5041

    When you open IB-gateway, make sure to choose the IB-API option and not the FIX

    Thank you for your answer Pstrusi, but I already have installed those versions. And selecting IB-API . :(( . By the way, I am running it from VPS, does it make any difference regarding RedDuke instructions? (because I have followed his process and I get that error message)

    I'm not expert with VPS, but for first steps, I'll look closely at this:

    IB-Gateway configuration:
    - Make sure that your system has all permissions to use needed ports
    - Add as Valid IP Trusted address the VPS machine IP address
    - Select the box "allow connection from localhost only"

    At NT7 side:
    - Besides to add same valid IP address, I'd put "localhost" where HOST (Optional) box

    If neither of this works, contact VPS support with this post info configuration
