Which is the biggest threat to the USA?

Allowing government to Bail out banks and corporations, let it crumble down and strong companies will remain and weak will not, otherwise we grow deeper into debt and those who got their companies in ruin gets bonuses for failing.

The threat is from within our liberal and contradictory government.

The food stamp program is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They proudly report that "They distribute free meals and food stamps to over 46 million people on an annual basis."

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, run by the U.s. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please do not feed the animals." Their stated reason for this policy being that "The animals will grow dependent on the handouts and then they will never learn to take care of themselves."

Lack of uniformily good public education, is by far the biggest threat. As Pogo said, "We have met the enemy, and he is us."

  8. Safety net programs: About 11 percent of the federal budget in 2014, or $370 billion, supported programs that provide aid (other than health insurance or Social Security benefits) to individuals and families facing hardship. Spending on safety net programs declined in both nominal and real terms between 2013 and 2014 as the economy continued to improve.
[IMG]These programs include: the refundable portions of the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit, which assist low- and moderate-income working families through the tax code; programs that provide cash payments to eligible individuals or households, including Supplemental Security Income for the elderly or disabled poor and unemployment insurance; various forms of in-kind assistance for low-income families and individuals, including SNAP (food stamps), school meals, low-income housing assistance, child care assistance, and assistance in meeting home energy bills; and various other programs such as those that aid abused and neglected children.

  10. Serious question, do you think we have a better system of "uniformly good public education" now than we did in the first half of the 20th centruy?
