You may have got a unit with a defective fan or bad temperature sensor which is causing it. I am not defending Lenovo, but personal experience with other computers
Perhaps, but I googled the subject and it seems to be a common complaint with this model. Well, my old Asus Zenbook had an i5 and it was virtually noise-free. At least compared to this. The new M-processors are fanless, but I'm not sure they're powerful enough to suit my needs. Most likely, I will go for an Asus Zenbook.
Keep us updated on what you get. I am also looking for a decent light laptop that works well for trading
Will do. The fan seems to be more quiet lately. Or perhaps I've just gotten used to it. I know that initially, there runs a lot of programs with updating and so on. This requires processing power. Still, it worries me that it became so loud, so I'm wondering if I should exercise my money-back-guarantee and go with an ASUS. Hmm...any ideas on pricing?
Well, you can't go wrong with a new Asus Zenbook. I have bought 2 Dell laptops in the past 4 years, both very cheap for the hardware specs but both came so preloaded with bloatware that I had to spend hours uninstalling it. Crap still pops up that I have no idea what the hell it is coming from. Did you check out the new Lenovo Lavie Z in the link I posted further up? The nice thing it is actually a NEC built in Japan and rebranded by Lenovo for USA. Worlds lightest 13 inch laptop
I wanted to avoid the hazzle, but I'm returning my Lenovo Yoga and buying an Asus Zenbook UX303 instead. I was in doubt, but several of the reviews of the Asus emphasized its great performance and how silent it is. This is similar to my experience with my old Zenbook. I never noticed any noise to speak of, which is probably why the Lenovo bugged me so much. The Asus also have an I7 processor at the same price I paid for the Yoga with I5, so in the end it was a no brainer. I loved the design of the Yoga, but the Asus Zenbooks are pretty nice as well.
This seems like a perfectly reasonable portable monitor. I wish it had HDMI, but USB is more portable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop
