Avoid HIGH income state tax from NY. Which also has higher sales tax, gas tax, ciggy tax etc etc and another biggie high estate tax. Not to mention NYC itself has a income tax. The comparison is not even close. "Do as I say, not as I do".
low property tax in Fla. too, and if I recall.. pretty good protection for your assets in Fla. - if you declare bankruptcy as well - when I was a kid people would always say.. they cant take your house
