And you changed nothing at all in your home setup? No router changes or anything else? This is a network issue plain and simple. Is the computer you're using windows or Mac? Install any new firewall or antivirus software?

Tried something as simple as cycling your router? It's definitely a network problem but without being there it's impossible to know if its with your computer or with your router. It's entirely possible its a TOS specific issue but my gut doubts it.

Makes sense. The live trading login probably encapsulates the data in a security protocol that won't go thru his firewall/router setup. Since, the demo login works. It is something deeper in the network stack.

TOS ships its own outdated version of java 7 update 45. I checked it from running TOS\jre\javacpl where TOS is installed. Now most computers/networks have found vulnerability in version 7 and blocked. Even that irritating autoupdate when TOS starts, reverts back to java version 7. TOS tech support have no clue why it happens, till that point, I have to use useless thinkarchitect..

You've open this thread on July 2nd...by now you could have closed you're account and moved your money into another broker. Simply, to continue leaving your money with them...its now become your fault.

Reminder of something I said earlier to you. If you can't trade live with them regardless if the problem is their system or your computer...

Why continue to waste time with this ? Call them up, close your account and then open your account with another broker. Losing trading days over this issue is actually costing you profits (assuming you're a profitable trader) in comparison to trading with someone else that you can trade.

Last of all, always have a plan B...sometimes called backup plan so that if this happens again with someone else...it doesn't impact your ability to trade because you have an alternative broker.

P.S. If you want to continue using TOS in hopes this problem with get fixed, at least use this down time to open an account with another broker as a back up plan

C'mon people. I use IB myself for most things but the vast majority of people do not have problems using TOS. There's no conspiracy here, its a local problem in his configuration.
