    Baron,

    I was reviewing the list @ http://www.elitetrader.com/et/index.php?members/&type=follower

There's a few names on that listed that have not posted here for several years. Its incredible they have such a following. Some of them have posted some of the best content on this site.

I was wondering if you ever review that list yourself and try to find out why they stop posting at your forum and if you ever considered trying to "encourage" them to return to Elitetrader.com ?

No, I don't try to reel people back in. Everybody goes through phases in life, so there's no need to try and pull them back into a phase of posting that they have clearly moved out of for whatever reason. I think the most important thing of all is that their past contributions still remain on ET and can be accessed just as easily today as they could when they were first posted.

I don't think Jack is who Mark had in mind when he asked the question. Jack died.

  6. People stop posting here for three reasons-
    1) death
    2) blew out their trading accounts
    3) get banned

Not to be cocky, your answer is pretty much right...

    But, to a lesser extent...

    4) throw toys out of the pram, and proclaim "I'm done with ET" or such like *

    5) legal reasons as was the case for Grunin with his Facebook fraud **

    6) become 'too big' for the community or/and busy - Tim Sykes, James Altucher, LBR, ...

    7) finally learn how to trade after assimilating all ET's knowledge ***

    * 2 and 4 are sometimes synonymous

    ** in his case, 2 and 5

    *** wildly speculative

Or they get tired of the trolls.

Why put up with it when there are so many alternatives?

Fair point. Personal troll defence can be hard work.

You get a different flavor elsewhere.

Some do like it in the Wild West - the land of the free.
