Unacceptable Limit Stock Order Handling by IB

Discussion in 'Order Execution' started by NoVoodooHere, May 18, 2015.

  1. Finally the troops arrive! Thank you for the response.

That could be it, so there is some default setting on the order ticket that prevents the order from being hosted on the exchange... And I see that on the ticket, but what I don't see is a place in the settings to change this default behavior to off. I hope that you are not suggesting that the order ticket be pulled up and manually edited each time an order is placed, that would not be reasonable.

Right click on the order, chose "Configure Order Presets"; in the screen that shows up (Order Presets configuration) scroll on the right side down to OCA Group section and uncheck "Overfill Protection" (but first make sure that this is the behavior you really want).

And since you are asking what I'm suggesting - I'd recommend you to call our customer support (we have dedicated team who can quickly point this out to you); troops can't hang out on ET all day long...

  3. Got it!

As for your suggestion that I address the issue w/ customer service directly:
I have spent hours on the phone w/ customer service on this topic, multiple attempts multiple departments and chats too... In fact there is still a ticket out there that is unresolved.

  4. I told you the first time to check your settings. And I also told you (or your hate mate) that another reason is that certain spread limits are not released from IB's servers is because they are not native to the exchange.

  5. Yes and probably you shitted into the phone support team in the exact same way you accused IB of errors on this site before actually knowing your software you are using to trade your account.

C'mon man that is not what smart routing is. They are only supposed to hold orders on their servers that cannot be NATIVELY expressed on the exchange. Sig provided a perfect example of the underlying issue here and you need to accept the possibility that there is more than meets the eye here. Just chill out.

Edit: we see that indeed it was overkill protection that was the culprit. Great to see it was figured out.

  7. Smart routes sometimes route to dark pools and hence do not show up in the NBBO. IT was one of the many suggestions to track the issue.

I also said that it could be that the order type is not natively supported by a soecific exchange which is when IB holds it on the server.

And I suggested checking the settings parameters for OCA orders which EXACTLY turned out to be the issue.

OP refused multiple times to post a specific symbol and accused IB of illegal acts so yes we had to make some assumptions and guesses to fill in the blanks.

I am completely chilled and relaxed. I just don't like bullshit type of people who accuse the one among very few brokers on the reputable list of wrongdoing while the user himself knows shit about the platform he decides to use to put money at risk.

Lol, mate, there is nothing more than meets the eye, a simple change in the order presets. Don't shoot down the message just because you have issues with the messenger

So 2 users complain about IB limitations your answer is just "get the fuck out"? What is the point of a forum then?

  9. its the way those two users have a very low rep on this site, complained at about the same time, about very similar issues, both refused to provide symbols and specific cases where they experienced issues and both shot down IB from the get go. So yes, to two such individuals I might add "get the fuck out AND dont look back"
