Does anyone automate number lines? Seems one could program a number lime based on
Logical Trader rules specifiedin the book.

  2. They could be programmed. But then there wouldn't be the discretion and nuance that comes with looking at the days action and updating your number lines.

Master Mav has discussed this subject many times on this thread so I'll post a few of his comments from his Underground ACD E-book:

“The number lines are THE most vital part of my strategy so I maintain them with great precision, which is why I would NEVER automate them.”

“I have found that absolutely nothing else has given me better feel for the markets than when I score my number lines. Another reason why they should not be automated. When you score a number line, it requires you to get inside that market and look at its mechanics. Just giving someone a number and saying 7, I don't know what 7 means. But If I'm involved in that market every single day and scoring it, then that 7 carries a lot of value for me. This is another reason why I've stated countless times on here that my number lines have no value to you. Because that number has meaning to me. If I just spit out a number and say 12, how is that number supposed to have any meaning if you don't know where it came from and you don't know the story behind it.

So yes, there is work involved but that work is what allows you to develop the feel and intuition behind what's going on. Something I never ever got from simply staring at a chart.”

“One of my chapters in the underground Mav E-book talks about how automating the number lines would defeat the whole purpose of them. It's analogous to automating art. Although I hear people are working on that. The number lines get their "value" from the fact that they should not be obvious, straightforward, plain, structured and in plain sight. For if that were the case, there would be nothing unique about them. It's the fact that you have something right in front of your eyes that NOBODY else has. THAT is the value.”

  4. Oil anybody? Think I am going to start looking for entries on failed weekly A downs. If it confirms that is but looks strong so far.

  5. Anybody watching X? It confirmed yesterday on the 30 day @ 15 and the 5 day and MR are at 8 and has nearly confirmed the monthly A up which will be its first in 7 months.

  6. What happened to Maverick74? According to his stats he has not logged in since Feb 28th and he stopped posting at exactly 20000 posts? Does he have a new alias or is he gone? The guy has to know that he has countless fans here on ET...I get the sense that he does not care about that type of stuff.

  7. Hey RB,
X could just take off (or not:). My numbers are not better than yours or anyone's. I have the 5 day at 4 and had a monthly a up yesterday (25.67). Would some people say there is a lot of ACD mo here?

Many times the obvious is right and ACD greatly helps me to determine which ones to throw a dart at. The obvious is yesterday's close broke the last swing high on 2/13/15, there was a higher swing low on 3/16/15 and today's a nice pull back. Got your buy stop in?

I automate them with an option to change it manually. That allows to watch a lot of stuff. But I guess this is not as powerful as closely managing them manually (never did that). It is just another data entry for me to make decision.

Just wanna check if anyone else agrees with my number line values to see if i am calculating them correctly, if you follow these markets. I use London open (7amGMT) for opening range, pivot start.

    DAX - 2
    FTSE -7
    GBP -2
