Has anyone built a Market Depth/Level 2 Orderbook UI that connects to IB API

Discussion in 'App Development' started by rolando87, Apr 11, 2015.

  1. If you have, please pm me. I am developing one in c# and would consider paying for something similar and further customizing it myself. Or if anyone wants to partner up to build one I'm open to that too.

Also if anyone knows any good 3rd party software that has a good market depth trader please let me know (multicharts does not work for my needs). Must be compatible with Interactive Brokers and futures.

  2. What do you need specifically? In what way is the order book you see in TWS not sufficient? I assume you intend to use it for manual order entry else you would have sought a pure API solution. I would suggest to keep this discussion public in thus thread else a lot of important information gets lost in PMs.

Have you looked at NinjaTrader and Sierra Charts?

be very careful of people who respond to you. a number of them would like you to infer superior knowledge on their part, but they are lacking in both knowledge and common sense.

  5. thanks for that useful link marketsurfer

  6. The IB Orderbook trader is a piece of junk and wish to develop my own interface completely customized to my needs. That's why I was looking to see if anyone built or partially built one and I can just take that source code and continue to develop it.

Ninja trader is its own brokerage now I believe. and I will look into Sierra charts. Thanks

BTW still looking to develop my own C# IB version...

  7. You did not answer any of my questions. Of course you don't have to but if you need help you would have to be more specific other than sayIng a or b is junk. Good luck finding what you are looking for.
