Na, definitely not taking it serious. It's hard not to laugh when they start singing the song i'll give it that. Yeah I've heard that live version, can't really go wrong with UFO. Doctor Doctor is another great one on Phenomenon also. "Lights out" is a great record too.
If you like guitar playin, this is really something special Saw this guy play in a small club in Holland for maybe 100 people. Too bad there's hardly any interest for his music nowadays.
Yeah I know Al Di Meola of course. I mostly play drums/percussion since as early as I can remember, but have been playing guitar and bass for over a decade now as well. listening to Radiohead now... getting ready for another snowstorm.
Wow, that's great, I would love to play an instrument, unfortunately I'm as musical as a dead fish. Do you have video's of yourself?
lol I think anyone can learn to jam out a bit if the desire is there. Never too late as I didn't start playing guitar/bass until 18yrs old or so. No videos on youtube. I am working on a website to present some original material but probably wouldn't post it on this board lol. I have a shit-load of rough tracks and half song bullshit laying around that are waiting to be finished. I jam with people here and there but none of them can take a band seriously enough. Just a hobby... love to produce and engineer also.
Cool stuff. that's a hobby you never get tired off. there's so much to discover and enjoy in music. I love opera as well, although i can't listen to it for long, I find it too draining emotionally. Your remark that it's never too late, made me think of Tiesto. At some point in time I was into trance/techno and was a regular at a shop in Rotterdam, where he worked behind the counter, but at the time I didn't know this guy was a dj. A few years later I lived in SF and was in a club in Miami and this guy from the store at Rotterdam walks in. He comes over to me as he recognizes me. I say what are you doing here? He answers I'm Tiesto, i'm playing here tonight. You can imagine how I felt.
That's crazy, compressorhead wasn't so bad for robots. Indeed it needs the human feel/emotion, human error. Sounds like 99% of this new school metal shit, all done to click tracks and midi-pickups/sensors on drums. I bet you could get algorithms pretty close to trick people for a bit, however you're never going to see a robo hendrix, robo wonder, robo coltrane, robo sly stone, robo funkadelic, etc etc...
