    Quant, why should it only make sense for large volume ? It gets even cheaper if you trade more than 1,000 contracts a month, but even if you trade only 10 RTs a month, you only pay 2.20 EUR for a RT on FGBL, which is much better than the 4.00 EUR you pay.

    @trade2win:

    Lots of reading to get a good knowledge base, for example:
    http://www.amazon.de/Markets-Analys...8&qid=1422283568&sr=8-1&keywords=bond+markets

    http://www.amazon.de/Leveraged-Fina...&qid=1422283568&sr=8-11&keywords=bond+markets

    Then you have to learn and understand the contract specifications of the instruments you want to trade, for example:
    http://www.eurexchange.com/exchange-en/products/int/fix/government-bonds/Euro-Bund-Futures/14770

    And then you can get some more know how on trading strategies and more, for example:
    http://www.eurexchange.com/blob/exc...g_strategies_questions_casestudies_en.pdf.pdf
    http://www.trade2win.com/boards/attachments/futures-options/125022d1322063620-bund-dv01-eurex.pdf

    And then... you have to just sit there all day, watch one or two markets and trade them. You have to get a feel for it. Only then you will really understand the movements, correlations etc...

  4. Hmm, after checking with IB you're right, I easily get above 1,000 contracts per month so then it's just $0.45 per transaction (plus clearing fees), I'll switch to tiered pricing today! :)

    For the european futures, it will be 0.45 EUR (not Dollar) per transaction, but it is still a very good rate. With your kind of volume, it really makes a difference already, so I am glad if that info was helpful :)

    When you say CSI300 futures, are you talking about FTSE China A50 from SGX? if not which broker allows you to trade CSI300 futures?

  7. Nope, I'm talking about direct access to Shanghai Futures Exchange...

    does IB have access to Shanghai futures exchange? Thanks!

  9. Nope, they don't! You need access to CTP (Comprehensive Trading Platform) - the Shanghai future exchange's own software is only available in Chinese, so you need to get a grasp of that or find another terminal system to access the market.

  10. FGBL is second most liquid instrument in Eurex in terms of trading volume after FESX .
    if you are trading in lower timeframes such as 1 minute ,FGBL has better candle formation and volume is distributed almost equally between different segments of day compared to FESX and other Eurex products .
