According to everything I've read, the 2014 tax year version of TurboTax Deluxe has removed two functions for stock traders: 1) the interview mode for completing Sch D, and 2) e-file capability for submitting an electronic return which contains Sch D.

The Deluxe version does contain Sch D in its long list of IRS forms and you can complete it manually in forms mode. However, in this case you must print the return and mail it since e-file will not support it. You would need to purchase the Premier version of TurboTax to get this functionality which has been removed from Deluxe.

This is my "best efforts" interpretation of what I've read online. If anyone has any better information, you are welcome to clarify/correct.

Sounds like your interpretation is correct. Those dirty little bitches. Now I will have to manually import all my taxpayer information into a new tax software suite because I don't like being handed bullshit explanations. Hopefully, Mr. Meighan will take those Amazon reviews to heart and re-think his plan of action.

You know, that's probably what I will do anyway. My post was just a knee jerk reaction to an obvious price increase with nothing more than a thinly veiled reason for it.
"Consistency across all platforms"? Just come out and say it. The guy is acting like a used car salesman.

Responding to a barrage of customer complaints, Intuit INTU +0.71% is apologizing to customers who used its TurboTax Deluxe software on their desktop computers last year and may face higher charges to prepare their 2014 returns.

Beginning Friday Intuit will communicate directly via email with prior-year TurboTax Deluxe customers. The company is offering a $25 rebate to customers who must upgrade to Turbotax Premier or TurboTax Home & Business in order to file their 2014 returns.

the last time I used a real live accountant he charged me $770 for my wife and I, and he didn't know shit about commodity trading

I read that Warren Buffet did his own taxes, so I started reading IRS publications

when I started doing my parent's taxes, I used turbo tax. At first they got a discount because they owned Vanguard mutual funds. I think this year I have to pay full price for "premier"
