I would like to trade derivatives on Asian Exchanges (Not just Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore, but also places like Korea, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Indonesia and etc). It looks like the big clearing firms like ABN Amro and Newedge offer trading on smaller exchanges but require a minimum deposit of USD 1 million. Are there any brokers that offer these exchanges (that only require a deposit of $100K or maybe a few hundred K)?
When I checked, Newedge required 5mil minimum, and they only cared if one brought in enough commission . I heard from a ABN rep that they expect 250kusd a year in commission, do they care for accounts bringing in around 100k ? Anybody around here knows ?
IB offers Stocks on the Shanghai Exchange now in China via the HKEX Shanghai-Connect since the launch Nov. 17. For Derivatives IB offers already offers access to Korea (and India if you're a non-resident Indian). For China you can trade the liquid futures A50 and HHI futures on SGX and HKFE (HHI has options as well). Taiwan - MSTW Futs/opts on SGX. SGX also has other futures but they aren't as liquid. A50 options on SGX could be coming down the line. Can't help you much advice on the other markets.
