Market Cap at close: Chrysler- $14.7 B Tesla- $32.4 B BMW- $54.3 B Ford- $ $59.6 B Mercedes- $66.9 B Toyota- $190.9 B Toyota is launching fuel cell cars next fall: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2472317,00.asp It's only 5 minutes to charge a fuel cell car for 300 miles. It's about 40 minutes for a full charge on a Tesla for 300 miles. The cost of technology for fuel cells is also dropping at a much faster pace. Is it just me or is this stock completely overvalued and in for a rude awakening?
TSLA is a momentum stock driven by its growth prospects, especially with the announcement of a lower priced model and the new lithium-ion factory being built in Vegas. It does not trade on fundamentals, so the market cap is out of whack.
Tsla's enterprise value is close to Porsche's. Tesla sells a few more cars than Porsche. Which of those two stocks has more upside? Both has a similar capital structure. Daimler Benz has an enterprise value of 140Bn. The market caps are distorted because the companies have vastly different capital structures.
Hype stock, like a few of the tech stocks today. No profits, huge losses. Kind of following the same trend that most pump and dump penny stocks follow. the only difference, is it takes a little longer for the market to realize this.
I think it does trade on fundamentals. It is the future. Go drive the car-drink the Koolaid. Don't believe everything you think.
I still think that fuel cells will be doomed to the dustbin the first time a terrorist uses one to blow shit up
Don't like the placement of those hydrogen tanks, but guess that's the safest area and if that area gets damaged your likely screwed anyways. 40Mins to recharge a tesla ?, from a dedicated high output source I bet. Nissan Leaf is the best in the UK, think 8hours for 90miles total joke.
