    Hoi

Just a matter of time to port X11 to ASICS....

anyway: no need nor a market for Gridcoin... get real: it's listed at position 156:
    https://coinmarketcap.com/all.html

Darkcoin (question from the other guy) at the other hand plays in a completely deferent league. That's X11, has a huge market, and has a very creative dev-team..... but it's a bit "too dark" for me (aggressive anarchists).

Yes x11 asics would make things a different story and maybe then it would be worth changing. But in the meantime scrypt with asics is by far the most efficient.

There is definitely a need for such a coin since POW is the only proven way to secure the blockchain. You mention POS as an alternative but even Sunny King the creator eludes it is not refined enough for standalone functioning. I'm not sure if you are aware but POS coins are extremely prone to forking and require a dynamic check-pointing node to maintain the proper fork control. This creates centralized weaknesses that can be exploited by attackers.

The block explorer they are using happens to be down at the moment, that's why its at 156. In reality Gridcoin is at ~45 on the global marketcap ranking, which is quite well for a newer coin not listed on a major exchange yet.

Yes, I'm aware of the glitches of POS as well as I'm aware of the glitches of POW (think 51% attack, which is very easy on such a Calimero coin like your beloved Gridcoin).

That's why I like Myriad-coin (even Andreas mentioned it): much safer than any by its 5 different blockchains, and can be mined by the most energy efficient algorithm: Qubit.

We can talk for hours... but I will stop here.
My advice to others who like to look to other coins than just Bitcoin/Litecoin: only look at the 10 largest coins in the 350+ List, and don't touch ANY other.

Gridcoin is far more resilient to a 51% attack then most other coins due to its dual mining methods. If you looked into it further you would see the dev has taken many precautions to resist differing attacks.

Yes obviously it would be a safer investment to look at already established coins but I don't feel most are focusing on the things myself and many others think is important. If you want to get in from the ground up on something that could change the world when it comes to scientific and medical research then Gridcoin is worth considering. I just urge everyone to check it out for themselves and decide if they think it is something they would like to support.

Currently Gridcoin is priced at ~$0.02/coin. I would not be surprised if it eclipses $0.50/coin in the next 12 months and reaches top 10 in the next couple years.

Well it's still in its infancy, which is good for those looking for exponential returns. Once everyone is talking about it, most of the gains will be had.
