Is the TWS Multi Charts version capable of rendering sub-minute charts (second and tick charts)?

Is the TWS Multi Charts version capable of multi-monitor support (charts can span across more then one monitor)?

    Thanks.

  2. Any time frame under 1 minute gets a 'This feature coming soon' message. It's been coming soon since February!

  5. It is stated very clearly that only "minute resolutions and higher" is supported. One of the many reasons it is something I rejected almost immediately. See http://www.multicharts.com/tws-net/

Edit: For a serious trader, there are may options that is cheap enough and completely functional. I use SierraChart and is completely satisfied. Yes, like everything it has it's drawbacks, doesn't have programming features I wish it had... but then what doesn't? This version of MC is a joke

I'm just trying out TWS-MC and it's Friday night. IB shuts off their data sometime Friday evening, leaves it off all weekend. TWS becomes useless, and so does TWS-MC. After this happened, I kept trying to familiarize myself with TWS-MC but every few seconds an orange error message would pop up on the right side of the screen, and in five minutes there was a never ending stack of these error messages blocking the right 20% of the screen. If you don't x them out as they pop up, you end up with hundreds of these messages, more than anyone would have time to x out.

So without a way to import data from another source, TWS-MC is a weekday only program. That's one of the reasons that serious traders avoid TWS, and for those hoping that TWS-MC might provide a grown-up charting alternative to TWS...tough luck folks!

Those error messages are probably pacing violations. You are limited to the amount of data you can request at any one time, so you are merely getting timed out until the request resumes.

I don't know why IBKR integrated MC without upping the data. Surely, it would have cause dissatisfaction. Rather than a marketing opportunity, it is actually makes MC look bad. If IBKR is gonna play favorites, they need to improve the integration to more than a menu shortcut.

I don't know what a pacing violation is, but I was still trying to figure out how to enter symbols into ?(where?) so I hadn't requested any data. There was one symbol that came with the installation, so perhaps one symbol is too much of a data request for this program. But since IB had turned off their data servers for the weekend, I think the error message was probably related to that (is that a pacing violation?).

The following is some info about pacing violation:

    Good luck.
