    I've given a link to a recent opinion piece by an internationally recognized expert on "global climate change". This appeared last Fall in Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons Volume 18 Number 3 Fall 2013

    After reading this, I have concluded that carbon credit trading schemes most likely will not find sufficient political support to be become implemented as permanent features within the U.S. Energy Landscape. This has rather profound economic implications for Electric Power Utility companies and the Oil and Coal industries.

    It's an extremely complicated and convoluted market. They have been around awhile. But the holes in the product are so big you could fit the entire earth in it. BTW, it's not the marketplace that doesn't want them, Goldman will love for that market to develop.

    Good points;
    Main problems seem to be [1] ''climate change is a scam'' AS IBD[Investors Business Daily, August 2014] noted recently ''guess what, the climate is always changing'' LOL, but true.

    They changed the name of the obvious scam from global warming to ''climate change''[2] The character of people that started the scam like algore; ''algore should be sued for fraud'' the founder of the weather channel said.Ps the fact that some in CA buy into scams like ENRON ,+ climate change doesNOT change facts of scam. CO2@ is a needed plant food. Thanks

    I wouldn't mind it if they gave me my money back every time the global temperature dropped by one degree

    I'm kind of an incentive guy, more than a penalty guy

    This opinion piece, backed up with data, by Richard Lindzen, makes the case that the global warming issue is an issue without strong scientific legs to stand on. This is what I, and an increasing number of other scientists have been saying for some time now, but Lindzen makes a better case than I would have taken the effort to make.

    Lindzen has drawn comparisons between the current global warming issue and previous controversies that grew out of the distortion of science, because in Lindzen's words, "science [became] a source of authority rather than a mode of inquiry."

    He uses the examples of the eugenics movement in the early twentieth century and the later Lysenko affair in the Soviet Union as examples where science became distorted and coopted for political purposes. In these cases it took 20 to 30 years for disinformation to subside. Lindzen points out that the global warming issue has been with us nearly 30 years now; perhaps it has nearly run its course, perhaps not.

    It is, I believe, important for investors to be aware that even though the present global warming issue is certain to eventually run its course as well, it may take much longer. The difference is, as Lindzen points out, that the present issue has acquired the aura of religion with global reach. For that reason, I believe, it could take many more years before science as a mode of inquiry triumphs over science as a source of authority with respect to global warming. In the meantime, the costs, and profits, will be huge. A trader may take advantage, but wise investors should steer clear. It is an issue built on shifting sand with weak legs.

    sea level futures. If you think they are rising just go long. If you think the science is just a bunch of baloney, go short.

    Amen, actually the local power co does that somewhat; discounts cool weather in summer/warm weather.LOL > For those who like scientific trends; plant a non evergreen tree; they let leaves fall + sunlight shine in winter.Cool
