  2. Have you been asleep since 1492 after discovering America?

Trading volume has been decreasing for years, in fact the entire bull from 2009 shows declining volume with an added twist, increased volume on the downwaves.

Have you not noticed the receding waters for years?

Better get your ship out to open ocean asap - the tsunami is aborning with wave lambda 1km

The only benefit to you from a rogue wave would be you'd spell your name right. :)

And no Columbus, this is not a new era.

  3. Receding stock market Volume = receding waters signal shunned by the daft as on Patong Beach in 2004. I was there. They were telling me, "Its a NEW ERA, come in and enjoy" - I managed to run to my car and headed straight up to Kata Hills at top speed. The wave came and killed them all. The 2nd wave then killed everyone in the restaurant where I had had breakfast.

  4. People make too big of a deal out of trading volume decline. It means nothing.

First of all lets point out Dodd Frank and the Volcker rule leading banks to close down their proprietary trading units across the board. So theres that obvious part of the equation.

The capital and liquidity is still there. The potential for increased trading is there. In fact, hedge funds have been gaining in sophistication with electronic trading, so the potential to ramp up volume is there. Market participants are just staying opportunistic. They come in when see opportunity. Trading volume is not an indicator for market direction or signal of market confidence.

  5. yeah yeah yeah, its a NEW ERA

Lose sight of the basics and one is lost for good.

Parallel corollary: Sex can still be had on zero erection but there's no denying its a bear market for the unfortunate fella
