    halt list just keeps growing. double today from my last post. bunch of stocks are halted at open and now-at close.

  4. People make too much noise about trading volume. BTW, trading volume has no correlation to liquidity (or potential liquidity) in the market. Liquidity relates to intention to trade. Most of the algos have prices that they intend to trade at but don't place a standing quote on the bid/ask stack. It is not even hidden so much as they will only flash it once it gets in range. And most of this is HFT too so its fast and can respond when the market reaches there rapidly. So the potential liquidity is there, just hidden. The fact there is lower volume, likely lends itself to lower volatility.
