Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 10:07:37 AM)
i have continuous +4 for the last 10 bars or so
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:08:21 AM)
2 things ned to happen for the Square Wave / DB - intrabar formation (meaning you see it before the bar closes) and the bar will need to close that way as well (intra-bar could LOOK like a DB, but later within the bar price action drives price lower)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:09:25 AM)
looking more like a LTR traverse
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:10:04 AM)
in other words, its a flaw and a DB so flaw means hold, so we ignore the harmonic wave form
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:10:04 AM)
yeah
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:10:40 AM)
i understand ltr traverse but still need to study more on harmonics..
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:11:06 AM)
in other words, its probably a stall and harmonic wave forms which form within (or part of flaws) we ignore
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:11:15 AM)
as flaws present an overriding signal of change
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 10:11:24 AM)
so we still wait for pt3 up?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:11:35 AM)
we HOLD through flaws
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:11:42 AM)
right....
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:12:08 AM)
so you have CONTINUATIOn, rather than CHANGE (as we would think we have based on Square wave odd (DB))
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:12:12 AM)
stall is a flaw...
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:12:20 AM)
yup
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 10:12:21 AM)
gotcha
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:12:43 AM)
looking for a right tl bounce
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:14:22 AM)
Remember: 2 exceptions ONLY to the Harmonics stuff. 1. IF aprt of a flaw, it means continuation not change so HOLD. 2. a second odd harmonic immediately after one forms means you have an even harmonic (lateral channel) so again it means continuation and not change (sorta like multiplying negative numbers (neg x neg = positive)
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 10:15:34 AM)
i saw anothe DB on ym but vol too low, so flas
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 10:15:38 AM)
flaw
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:15:42 AM)
prv good
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:16:18 AM)
and there was the RTL bounce (of an old carryover channel) bug was looking for
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:16:26 AM)
current ES bar
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:16:54 AM)
yeah
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:18:02 AM)
Now, how might one KNOW in advance a flaw was forming, without even seeing the bar form?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:18:10 AM)
or looking at Volume?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 10:18:26 AM)
ve?
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 10:18:26 AM)
divine intervention :)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:18:36 AM)
review you charts and look at the traverses
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:01 AM)
you'll notice FTT's form AFTER VE or flaws within these traverse
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:12 AM)
RARELY do you have an FTT form without having a VE or flaw first
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:18 AM)
or both
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:22 AM)
what is VE?
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:32 AM)
vola exp
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:38 AM)
so if you have a traverse, without a flaw or a VE, well then your brain needs to anticipate FLAW
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:42 AM)
cool observation on FTTs spy
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:19:49 AM)
VE = volatility expansion
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 10:20:19 AM)
i was hit many times when "saw" an FTT without prior hints
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:20:32 AM)
I enourage everyone to review their charts, or mine if you want the flaws marked for you, to 'see' what I speak of.
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 10:20:33 AM)
and wise versa - FTT after a hint is usually good
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:22:22 AM)
when you review your charts, start at the point three, and move forward. How many traverses have an FTT withouit a VE or flaw? Once you do this you'll be able to 'see' how it works (build confidence)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:22:31 AM)
then you start looking at charts in hindsight
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:22:35 AM)
to build more confidence
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 10:22:41 AM)
good drill idea
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 10:22:52 AM)
yeah very useful drill
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:22:52 AM)
then you can start to find them in real time, then quicker in real time
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 10:23:16 AM)
i also do replays of past charts on increased speed sometimes
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:23:23 AM)
this is how you teach yourself to trade
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:25:05 AM)
Biggest mistake beginning traders make isn't undercapitalization, or not having an edge. Biggest mistake is not having the ability to self analyze WHERE the errors come from
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:25:31 AM)
clearly, not hitting the buy sell button fast enough is different problem than not drawing correct channels
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:25:53 AM)
building confidence in the fact that this stuff works, eliminates one area of possible error
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:26:13 AM)
"I mjkust ned to review and learn more so i don't make this mistake"
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:26:30 AM)
when really the mistake was you didn't 'see' the flaw
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:26:46 AM)
not 'seeing a flaw' isn't solved by reviewing how to draw channels
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:27:19 AM)
=)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:27:30 AM)
different errors require different solutions, so learn to figure out what KIND of error you made, so you can apply the correct drill / solution to avoid future repeat errors of the same kind
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 10:29:58 AM)
makes sense

Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:33:01 AM)
ok there is the flaw so now ya can start to think FTT (doesn't mean you won't have another flaw [could have several in a row] but when flaws appear, it means the trend is starting to stumble)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 10:33:20 AM)

however, I am calling another double top FTT.....
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 11:51:50 AM)
ivob, how do u determine when the YM overrides the Es and vice versa? Just when there is doubt on one, look to the other for more clarity?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:52:17 AM)
look at YM when ES price is at one of the trendlines.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:52:24 AM)
and it was (RTL)
buffalow (Jun 11, 2007 11:53:20 AM)
ivob, es price didn't really go up or down. volume was decr black. = lateral in long channel = continue
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:54:05 AM)
one my chart from 11:25 to 11:35 three conecutive bars ES price closed higher every time.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:54:40 AM)
and just like lightbody it also faked me out of my position
buffalow (Jun 11, 2007 11:54:52 AM)
mine too, but bars' ranges went mostly sideways
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 11:54:57 AM)
different data providers have different tops. Mine has higher, lower, higher on those three bars.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:55:29 AM)
funny thing is now we see the opposite. ES says lateral YM says down
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:55:36 AM)
+ squeeze
buffalow (Jun 11, 2007 11:55:41 AM)
yup
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 11:55:42 AM)
but, the three bars had increasing lows.
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 11:55:45 AM)
triple top :)
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:55:52 AM)
yeah
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:56:01 AM)
I saw the second top bar as FTT.
buffalow (Jun 11, 2007 11:56:24 AM)
i saw it as a left to right lateral retrace from the 11:25 bar high
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 11:56:44 AM)
yeah ivob, me too... eyes were glued to the dom, saw my position go sour and got out for -.25. then got back in after that little shakeout
buffalow (Jun 11, 2007 11:56:45 AM)
oh, my second bar had lower high. ic
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:57:39 AM)
imo the FTT right now (still following closely BTW) there were different clues. Important one, we could not get the same volume as 9:45
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:57:54 AM)
it can still be HVS
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:58:41 AM)
spyder correct me if I am completely wrong...
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 11:58:58 AM)
doesn't the YM indicate it is just a retrace?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:59:06 AM)
true (imo)
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 11:59:32 AM)
decr red + decr black.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 12:00:57 PM)
well. reversed again and lost a tick
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:01:06 PM)
:(
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:01:31 PM)
i just have decr black
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:01:52 PM)
no red bars since 1115
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 12:02:05 PM)
but price sideways.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 12:02:15 PM)
means uptrend still intact.
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:04:33 PM)
CF
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:05:00 PM)
went ok this morning?
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:05:09 PM)
hey will
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:05:22 PM)
will: stayed away of this dead mkt :)
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:05:51 PM)
CF, good.. top to bottom only 90pts intraday.. LOL
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:05:58 PM)
yeah
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:06:06 PM)
everyone is waiting for a break..
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:06:07 PM)

the week before xmas and chinese new year are like that too..
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:06:46 PM)

Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:11:43 PM)
is on my chart. probably everyone jockeying for position before lunch.
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:12:57 PM)
anyone have the problem on QT that after a while of drawing the Gaussians, the info gets wiped out?
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:13:41 PM)
dec red gaussian
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:13:49 PM)
need inc red guassian next bar
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:14:11 PM)
Yes, quite annoying. I got so that I would save my chart every so often. Now I am using tradestation alos.
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:14:54 PM)
ya, really annoying
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:15:32 PM)
its kinda like landing on "banckrupt" on Wheel of Fortune" :(
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:16:11 PM)
After saving, I could do a restore when they got wiped out and have most of my work.
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:18:15 PM)
bug, I am one who looks at every chart and sees a down trend. therefore, I am sure, an increasing red will be here soon.
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:19:51 PM)
back
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:19:52 PM)
anyone hear use Ninja Trader?
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:20:53 PM)
very strange mkt top
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:21:04 PM)
dip followed by a square wave odd harmonic
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:21:07 PM)
not strange
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:21:20 PM)
well... for my untrained eye :)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:21:26 PM)
LOL
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:21:38 PM)
Ask AVi if he didn't see it in advance :D
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:21:56 PM)
but lets walk through it CF
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:04 PM)
11:40 and 11:45
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:16 PM)
appears like we might have one of them there odd harmincs right?
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:26 PM)
great, Avi is the class pet
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:27 PM)
k 35 was a dip right?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:28 PM)
sorry 11:45 / 11;50
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:40 PM)
yes :35 was a dip
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:22:46 PM)
fololowed by VE
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:23:04 PM)
40, 45 VE
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:23:07 PM)
so it APPEARS we have our pre-conditions set (flaws and VE ina trverse)
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:23:31 PM)
what was :50
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:23:33 PM)
so when we see the double top at :45 and :50 we think this must be it
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:23:40 PM)
an FTT
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:23:49 PM)
but we have to make SURE
saxon (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:04 PM)
then it would be short?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:04 PM)
note the extremely low volume on :50 compared to :45
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:24 PM)
yes, but it still was an FTT?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:25 PM)
ummm
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:25 PM)
our brains need to then think "I must have another flaw based on this volume)
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:29 PM)
extremely low volume?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:31 PM)
Hold on
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:35 PM)
i have 22k on that bar
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:46 PM)
and what do you have at :45 procrast
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:47 PM)
1150
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:24:52 PM)
same with me, but lower than 45
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:00 PM)
1145 = 30k
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:25 PM)
k but what was 55?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:32 PM)
so comapred to the :45 bar :50 has significantly LESS
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:34 PM)
55 was just barely below the 50 bar
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:34 PM)
HVS?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:40 PM)
STOP please
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:43 PM)
ok sure
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:25:45 PM)
FOLLOW along
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:26:08 PM)
when i see 22k after a 30k bar you're saying i should see that as "significantly less?"
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:26:58 PM)
my 45 had 23k, my 50 had 10k
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:27:01 PM)
I am saying 40-60 % of the previous bar volume your brain should move to flaw instaead of FTT
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:27:37 PM)
high the volume bar is compared to the previous the mnore likely it is an FTT lower the volume compared to the previous bar more likely it is a flaw, 40-60 is the turning point
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:28:01 PM)
k
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:28:20 PM)
Ok so we see much less (if that works better) volume on the :50 compared to :45
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:28:27 PM)
yep
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:28:30 PM)
k
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:28:47 PM)
so since we headed short off the double top, we need to MAKE SURE
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:28:55 PM)
thatw e get the sequences which always follow in FTT
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:29:02 PM)
if we do NOT then we need to reverse
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:29:25 PM)
so when we see the lower volume we need to think flaw and anticipate what would follow a flaw vs what would have followed an FTT
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:29:42 PM)
what's the sequence that always follow in FTT? the correct direction, spy?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:29:57 PM)
when :55 opens and heads lower, we relax a bit and think oh well, we must have had an FTT as price did go lower on decreasing red
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:30:36 PM)
our brains start to think, Ok :50 must not have been a flaw, and I am good as Price moving in my favor
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:30:54 PM)
on decreasing red
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:01 PM)
(exactly what we would expect after an FTT)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:13 PM)
then in middle of :55 bar price changes direction
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:18 PM)
Spy, decreasing red as in? increase in volume?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:21 PM)
and trusdn black
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:24 PM)
turns
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:33 PM)
NOW we think, damn it was a flaw after all
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:46 PM)
yes
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:48 PM)
and if so, then the enxt bar (or one soon there after) is going to go INCREASING black
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:31:57 PM)
and drive price higher
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:32:10 PM)
so i need to reverse here
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:32:29 PM)
sure enough that is whatw e see but Price doesn't head all that further
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:32:33 PM)
fwiw, i have every bar as decr black from 1145 to 1200
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:32:37 PM)
so we look and see OK what the hellw as that then?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:32:49 PM)
sure you do NO but intra-bar you didn't
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:32:52 PM)
NOW
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:33:00 PM)
k, so prv
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:33:26 PM)
ill def review this section of the video, heh
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:33:46 PM)
ok so now we move to :00 bar nad Price moved higher but stops ona dom wall (actually it was the same DOM wall noted on the earlier (:45 :50 bars, but the spooffers moved it in an attempt to trick people Price was headed higehr)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:34:14 PM)
so NOW we have another double top, after whatw e NOW know was a DIP and not an FTT
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:34:21 PM)
we again head short
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:34:37 PM)
only THIS time we DO see what we expect after an FTT, decreasignr ed volume back to the right trend line
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:35:12 PM)
so while we conintuie to monitor across the :05 - :15
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:35:20 PM)
we see exactly what we would anticipate
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:35:31 PM)
decr red
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:35:46 PM)
and price breaks the uptrend (although only briefly before retuirning back and closing in the channel
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:35:57 PM)
yes
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:36:05 PM)
ok NOW what questions do you have
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:36:31 PM)
and just an FYI, I was talking to AVI through this process and we watched it all unfold in advance
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:36:34 PM)
good talk, good talk
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 12:36:42 PM)
class pet, lol
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 12:36:53 PM)
but do u have prints, spy?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 12:36:58 PM)
so i can believe?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:37:02 PM)
ROFLMAO
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:37:44 PM)
well, i was simply long all this time, but now also understand better what happened :)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:04 PM)
if you anticipate BOTH continuation and change, and as a result KNOW what to expect next for both, you then KNOW what you have, and Know what side pof the market is right
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:07 PM)
lol
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:11 PM)
lol
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:14 PM)
:D
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:29 PM)
Spy, so now we are short at the 1220 bar at the rtl. do we reverse on the 1225 bar?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:44 PM)
right now you have CCC so you should be sidelined
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:38:56 PM)
doesnt CCC = continuation?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:39:18 PM)
if its a laterla it does
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:39:23 PM)
copy that - ccc, close position.
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:39:31 PM)
:)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:39:32 PM)
but the extremely low volume might catch soembody off gaurd
Haroki (Jun 11, 2007 12:40:01 PM)
volume...that was what i was wondering..
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 12:40:08 PM)
rem, as the vol goes down, the expertise to trade it goes up
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:40:37 PM)
if you saw the 12:15 as an FBO and as a result reversed (more advanced trading than beginner) then fine hold through the CCC as longas you can understand the risk of really low volume levels
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:43:43 PM)
Spy, if long a beginner wud exit at :50 bar (if the beginner believed the flaw was a FTT). Then short at :00 or :05 bar, then exit at FBO on :15 and wait for CCC to clear up. Correct?
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 12:43:54 PM)
That is what I understood to do. But, as a beginner, it is probably best for me to close.
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:44:23 PM)
shouldnt a beginner simply hold until the break of RTL?
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:44:27 PM)
as i do?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:44:35 PM)
depends on what flavor of beginner you are lol
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:44:40 PM)
lol
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:44:45 PM)
right :)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:44:47 PM)
A Forest level trader (no FTT's) hold until a Break of the RTL
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:45:02 PM)
enters on Point Three and Exits on break of RTL
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:45:25 PM)
A Beginner who trades at Tree level (FTT's and Point Threes) hold through flaws and reverses on FTT's
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:45:52 PM)
FYI here we go aagain (see current ES bar
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:10 PM)
inc red now on PRV
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:14 PM)
if I were a tree, what kind of tree wud I be??
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:30 PM)
One that should be monitoring rather than worrying about trading
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:34 PM)
:D

tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:47 PM)
cool stuff spy
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:52 PM)
you have to 'see' the stuff first to build up the confidence
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:55 PM)
indeed I am
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:58 PM)
helpful fo sure
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:46:59 PM)
no trading here
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:47:22 PM)
ok sow e repeat the same process as before
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:47:28 PM)
I guess I wud be a weepin willow then :(
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:47:38 PM)
what do I need for this to be an FTT (change) and what do I need for this to be a flaw (continuation)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:47:45 PM)
wash rinse repeat over and over again
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:48:27 PM)
everyone WILL make mistakes in their observations, I do as well, but the KEY is too quickly recognize them and fix them
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:50:53 PM)
and here we go again, note volume
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:51:07 PM)
maybe this is a hitch, maybe this is an FTT
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:51:22 PM)
YM says it looks like a flaw
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:51:35 PM)
it look price was just taking a pause
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:51:54 PM)
note the 12:50n volume on YM
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:52:03 PM)
clearly flaw type volume
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:52:25 PM)
so HAD you reversed thinking you had an FTT, you'd know in advance of the BO that you had a flaw and needed to get back long
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:52:39 PM)
1250 ym volume for me is 80% of prev bar
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:53:04 PM)
for me it was 80% less
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 12:53:10 PM)
b/c YM vol so low?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:53:33 PM)
1248 550 vol, 1250 480 vol
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:53:59 PM)
778 vs 113 on my charts
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:54:06 PM)

Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:56:14 PM)
okay so this bar we'd like to see 60%+ red vol
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:56:29 PM)
yes we would
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:56:53 PM)
prv says might not make it
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:57:08 PM)
looking kinda low
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:57:19 PM)
price not going lower either
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:57:47 PM)
I have it on the bubble, which means we need to keep focused and continue to do the bar to bar analysis until we either invalidate our FTT theory or our flaw theory
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:58:03 PM)
mine closed at 40%
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:58:06 PM)
or is about to
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:58:23 PM)
24k vs. 10k now
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:58:26 PM)
your bars are closing very early
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 12:58:30 PM)
i have 15 sec left
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:58:35 PM)
lol ok
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:59:02 PM)
yeah pro
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:59:08 PM)
so about 40% of last bar
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 12:59:09 PM)
flaw?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:59:39 PM)
ok sow e move to the next bar and we expect to see decreasing red if we had an FTT unless we have some sort of flaw / or inside bar like what we have forming now
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 12:59:59 PM)
we kep monitoring until the pciture becomes clear on PRV basis
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:00:20 PM)
and NOW things do look clearer but not quite exactly what we anticipate
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:00:33 PM)
last bar was 40% of prior bar....flaw?
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:00:40 PM)
model down a little less than a $1k on about 300k of buying power. It was up about $350 but only for a short time
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:00:41 PM)
decreasing red is fine, but price is 'stuck'
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:01:35 PM)
we THINK flaw and continue to monitor until the next bar, (40 - 60 , or even less) doesn't MAKE it a flaw) it puts our brain into "I need to watch very clsoely becuase this LOOKS like a flaw" mode
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 1:01:53 PM)
if next bar is incr black, that makes these two red bars = stall? extended dip?
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:01:59 PM)
it is funny how you have to get the flows in equities right on some days (maybe all days.)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:04 PM)
so if a flaw, what kind?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:19 PM)
cstart with what it cannot be
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:20 PM)
ok thanks spy for explanation
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:24 PM)
basic materials sector getting all the plays today
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:31 PM)
cannot be CCC right? too much volume
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:51 PM)
cannot be hitch (price volatility to large)
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:02:54 PM)
not hitch...bar too long?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:00 PM)
there ya go
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:03 PM)
not hvs, too little volatility?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:07 PM)
so we have HVS or Stall or DIP
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:11 PM)
I used to break down equities into sectors in the old program, I think I will implement that again in this one...
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:17 PM)
COULD still be an HVS NOW
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:25 PM)
COULd still be a stall
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:29 PM)
may help...
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:32 PM)
increasing black now will say stall
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:42 PM)
decreasing black will say HVS
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:45 PM)
still am not really good at deciphering hvs, stall, or dip....
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:51 PM)
HVS
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:03:59 PM)
Could still be a dip if we go one more bar and see increasing black
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:18 PM)
very mixed today
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:23 PM)
question: is there any benefit to being able to differentiate dip from stall
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:30 PM)
if it weren't for BM, I think we would be red mildly
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:31 PM)
profitwise
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:33 PM)
so now we wait to see since we know all the possibilities and the current impossibilities, as time passes we are left with only one thing
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:39 PM)
nit, when are you going to go live?
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:43 PM)
BM = Basic Mats
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:50 PM)
I need funding first
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:04:57 PM)
needs lots of buying power to work
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:00 PM)
Pro- only if Dip goes beyond one bar
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:08 PM)
nit, find the broker yet?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:22 PM)
and BTW, lets not forget this COULD still be an FTT as decreasing red still is hanging around
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:25 PM)
THE broker, with the BP
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:41 PM)
I am still talking to lots of potential partners for this model
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:42 PM)
difference now is, we know what we cannot have
nitro (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:48 PM)
I have two others that I am also coding
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:05:51 PM)
and we know what posibilities exist
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:06:09 PM)
as more time passes, the possibilities will shrink \leaving what we can ONLY have
Willleung (Jun 11, 2007 1:06:45 PM)
nit, work hard mate
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:06:49 PM)
ionc black = dip?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:07:08 PM)
if you have increasing black, then price will drive higher
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:07:13 PM)
right
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:07:18 PM)
and you WILL have a dip
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:07:26 PM)
ok...thats what i thought cool
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 1:07:40 PM)
in this case, how would this two bar "dip" be any different than a "retrace"
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:08:05 PM)
so we KNOW this isn't a stall, it isn't a CCCC it isn't a hitch and we don't see rbrb or brbr on volume like an HVS, so what does that leave?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:08:07 PM)
a dip
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:08:13 PM)
and dips have increasing black
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:08:35 PM)
and that is what we end up with
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:09:10 PM)
Pro- you can't know in advance how far a dip will travel beforeheand, could be like the last dip barely move lower (11:45 and 11:50 stuff we talked about earlier)
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:09:44 PM)
so now that we had flaw...look for ftt?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:10:24 PM)
yes bug we begin the whole process again, wash rinse repeat
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 1:12:04 PM)
wow 3k yanked on dom
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:12:15 PM)
2000 bid print also

rtl bo?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:49:27 PM)
I have ahd two (steeper one's) thus far since the square odd at the 13:40 mark
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:50:59 PM)
but then you knew in advance you'd have the RTL Bo's after the Square wave Odd harmonic :D
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 1:52:01 PM)
sure we did spyder. actually i haven't mastered these harmonics yet, even though I was an expert on them when working with radar.
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:52:33 PM)
just gonna say, maybe u did, I took the trade but the wall at 30.50 shook me out
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:53:55 PM)
ok no problem, now learn from that mistake
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:54:17 PM)
maybe next time, you anticipate a 'point three' forming down in this situation
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 1:54:57 PM)
where did the volume go?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:55:20 PM)
saw a pt3 in the ym and entered short again, correct thinking?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:55:49 PM)
yes
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:55:58 PM)
once you realized you exited too early, you got back in

ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:56:16 PM)
my biggest weakness is holding. shorted the 9:55 ftt and got long at 1519.50, only 4 pts today to show for it. no losers though
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:56:24 PM)
not holding i should say
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:57:01 PM)
only 4 pts
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:57:04 PM)
lol

thats great
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:57:11 PM)

no, i mean its good
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:57:51 PM)
a fraction of what it should be
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:57:57 PM)
yes, funny how the persepctive changes, most people would kill to be able to get 4 points a day
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:57:59 PM)
i rem mak posting about the 3x range jack mentions
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:58:06 PM)
:D
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:58:17 PM)
mak said, forget about 3x, try for 2 pts
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:58:28 PM)
the rest will come later
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:58:56 PM)
yea spy, that was my pt to tic, didn't mean to sound negative
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:59:20 PM)
didnt take it negatively, it s all good

its funny how u can type one thing and it comes out 180 deg different
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 1:59:43 PM)
knew what ou meant
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 1:59:51 PM)
ya, didn't sound negative to me
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 1:59:52 PM)

multiple harmonics in the last 4 bars, SPY could you breakdown how u view them compared to the top
tradingbug (Jun 11, 2007 2:04:39 PM)
double bottom lats bar?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:05:08 PM)
yes, but the 1350 and 1355 bar also had them
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:05:17 PM)
need clarification
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:05:37 PM)
13:55 and 14:00 = Double bottom
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:05:50 PM)
1400 14:05 APPEARS to forma double top
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:05:59 PM)
bar isn't finished so you need to be SURE
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:06:08 PM)
14:05 could be a hitch (flaw)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:06:22 PM)
so monitor as before determining what you need for continuation or change
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:06:34 PM)
1350 and 1355 at the time looked like db, whats dif
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:06:49 PM)
db is finished, closed, dt was not
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:07:08 PM)
intrabar price movement caused what appeared to be a dt, but only briefly
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:07:35 PM)
if you took action then you'd need to see decreasing red, you ddin't so you prolly weren't looking at a dt
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:07:39 PM)
as the market later confirmed
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:07:57 PM)
i rev'ed on the db, worked out pretty well :)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:07:58 PM)
its rare toi get a DT immediately followed by a DB and vide versa
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:08:17 PM)
always does Pro always does :D
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:08:38 PM)
not impssible ticktrade, but very rare
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:09:16 PM)
i saw that, my confusion is what looked like db the 2 bars before the real db
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:09:25 PM)
maybe my chart is wrong
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:10:02 PM)
ahh ok tick thatw as a flaw (stall)
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:10:05 PM)
tic, the 1345 , 1350 bars?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:10:41 PM)
yes, i see it as flaw now, any way at the time to know
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:10:43 PM)
the real DB had some added clarity thanks to the ym volume
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:10:55 PM)
again if you think its a DB and take action, note what MUST come next (in this case decreasing balc) when vol goes RED you KNOW you don't have a DB but some sort of flaw
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:11:34 PM)
what price did u guys reverse at on DB?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:11:42 PM)
makes sense thanks, on the real db, the ym did look different. pv on ym gave clue to up move
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:11:55 PM)
i waited to 28.50, too late
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:13:57 PM)
that is huge key to all this, "what must come next"
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:14:14 PM)
there ya go ticktrade
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:14:50 PM)
right tic, let the 'price' confirm AFTER u r in the trade with what must come next
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:15:31 PM)
1405 pt3, what is pt1 now?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:15:57 PM)
i found on my review of my recorded sessions, that i was slow, and reacting after price confirmed
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:16:02 PM)
this is too late
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:16:16 PM)
me 2
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:16:26 PM)
which is edge trading
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:16:28 PM)
so u take the trade than look for confirm?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:16:54 PM)
yes, and if it isn't what i anticipate then reverse or sideline
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:17:27 PM)
rem, vol leads price, so waiting for price to confirm is lagging
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:17:38 PM)
you'll be late
callmate (Jun 11, 2007 2:17:58 PM)
hi
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:18:00 PM)
and if ur late and then realize ur on the wrong side
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:18:15 PM)
then you'll prolly be late again on a reverse
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:18:24 PM)
very good points
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:18:30 PM)
then u can say 'whipsaw'
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:18:47 PM)
hi call, good log today
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:18:57 PM)
i found i can't be slow using this method
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:19:20 PM)
notice how 'fast' spy is
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:19:28 PM)
it takes practice
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:20:35 PM)
yes, I notice things seem to ahppen much slower than a month ago, even with added tools. will take much more practice but can see happening what Spy said would
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:21:16 PM)
think about how quickly spy is picking up on the mkt's 'song', because he is typing it as he sees it, which adds a lag to us.
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:25:51 PM)
flaw?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:26:45 PM)
imo 14:10 is pt3 down after bo
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:29:55 PM)
u mean 1415?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:30:10 PM)
down, not up
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:30:41 PM)
yes. 14:10 , the top.
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:31:00 PM)
yes, flaw in dom only so now down
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:31:25 PM)
ivob using ensign?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:32:05 PM)
not anymore. QT now
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:32:30 PM)
ok i have 1415 as top
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:32:47 PM)
so you use ensign?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:32:59 PM)
thats a flaw in ensign lol
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:33:42 PM)
tick, what data are you using?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:33:45 PM)
new pc, jsut had to set timestamp to start of bar, all my times have been off
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:34:01 PM)
fixed now, maybe I'll make more sense
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:34:03 PM)
need to synch clock
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:34:38 PM)
no, by default ensign stamps end of bar, had to change setting
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:34:45 PM)
ok, I see
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:35:13 PM)
http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/8242/screenit3.png
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:35:14 PM)
i need to keep clock in synch or my bars get off
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:35:18 PM)
that's where i'm at right now
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:35:51 PM)
mone's the same
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:35:57 PM)
mine's
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:35:58 PM)
I have exactly the same
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:36:56 PM)
pr0, does QT create it's own time stamps, or does it use computer clock (when using IB)?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:37:07 PM)
uses IB's time
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:37:35 PM)
FYI - this whole thing looks like on large lateral (even harmonic) so if so we should anticiapte price heading higher and breaking today's high
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 2:37:42 PM)
my chart is the same as Pr0crast.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:38:14 PM)
actually current bar (ES) could be FTT on that same lateral
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:38:37 PM)
but 14:25-14:30 incr red
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:38:42 PM)
when i clicked on the link i got secruity warning, i allowed popup and chat window closed and reopened a new one. wht did i do wrong
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:38:58 PM)
anyone know if people i have ignored on the board are also ignored on the chat? sometimes i see what appears to be one sided conversations, lol
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:04 PM)
pr0, thx. Iuse AmiBroker and it doesn't get time from IB except when I refresh.
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:20 PM)
to clarify, I don't mean to say I believe this will happen, I mean tos ay based on what the 'trend channel' harmonics folks say, we would see it happen. (as I understand it)
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:31 PM)
if u can see this pr0 then it doesn;t work :)
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:40 PM)
haha
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:49 PM)
avi on ignore :D
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:52 PM)
why, is your board sn "bullz n bearz"
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:55 PM)
heh
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 2:39:55 PM)
tricktrade: I had that happen until i allowed popups from that the site.
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:40:15 PM)
thats what I tried, maybe next time
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:40:20 PM)
pr0, thats just one of my 569 aliases
Lightbody (Jun 11, 2007 2:40:23 PM)
(in the past, that is.)
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:40:34 PM)
haha
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:40:44 PM)
last bar dip
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:40:53 PM)
finally found one spy didn't block
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:43:02 PM)
possible triangle wave forming?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:44:01 PM)
yup, ym ftt'ed nicely too
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:44:14 PM)
once again guys look what ahppened
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:44:29 PM)
Point three down, flaw and a VE
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:44:47 PM)
now doesn't mean we DO have an FTT here (we still could have a flaw) but note how the sequence works
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:51:28 PM)
wow
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:51:35 PM)
you even see it before the ftt
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:51:45 PM)
pow
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:51:50 PM)
:D
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:52:05 PM)
i turn around for one sec
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:52:05 PM)
magic call
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:52:09 PM)
and i'm up 1.5 :)
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:52:14 PM)
me too lol
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:52:50 PM)
ym 14:50 bar was my sign
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 2:52:53 PM)
what bar is the pt3 on that retrace?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:07 PM)
14:45 considered an ftt, on decr red?
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:19 PM)
me too ivo
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:38 PM)
I saw the gaus shift on ym and was long but don't know what to call that bar on es
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:41 PM)
there was probably a fat STR too but i wasnt watching it
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:42 PM)
so 14:40 was VE right?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:48 PM)
there was
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:53:54 PM)
+4
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:54:06 PM)
3 in a row
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:54:31 PM)
that'll be fun to review on the video :)
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 2:54:45 PM)
I saw dip 1435, ve 1440 dont know wht 1445 is called
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:55:06 PM)
the biggest difference between most of you trying to learn and what i do is you all mostly REACT rather than learn to anticipate what comes next
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:55:37 PM)
you MUST learn to think into the future and evaluate the present as the future moves into the NOW
Haroki (Jun 11, 2007 2:55:46 PM)
lol .... true
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:55:49 PM)
across the passage of time
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:00 PM)
Hopefully that didn't sound too new agey :D
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:13 PM)
'the sands thru the hourglass'
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:15 PM)
well... sometimes I see price going up on dec. black in upchannel you anticipate change. in anticipation take a short and price goes up a lot more....
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:26 PM)
'these are the gaus of our lives'
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:40 PM)
then you have MISSED a channel IVOB
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:50 PM)
YM HVS?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:56:50 PM)
THAT is what the market is teling you
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:57:03 PM)
= ES dip?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 2:57:14 PM)
Es as well YM say hold imo
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:57:56 PM)
yup
Pr0crast (Jun 11, 2007 2:58:05 PM)
my seatbelt is securely fastened
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:58:56 PM)
keep sweeping the data to 'see' what is happening now while anticipating what MUST come next based on the two conclusions (continuation or change)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 2:59:27 PM)
is it an FTT? why? what proves it? Is it a flaw? Why? What proves it? and what kind? what comes next for each both intrabar (this bar ) and next
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:00:28 PM)
IF you missed it, figure out why. Did you miss a channel? Did you THINK you had an flaw when it wa an FBO / FTT? what could have shown you the way? YM? STR / SQU? DOM? Tic Charts?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:02:41 PM)
Low Volume said flaw, but if it were to be a flaw what HAD to open next?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:02:43 PM)
did it?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:02:52 PM)
open = happen
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:03:34 PM)
inc blk, and no it did not
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:04:02 PM)
I saw squeeze -4 at 15:00
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:04:20 PM)
-4 hadn't happened in a long time
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:04:49 PM)
ok so @ 15:00 you saw squeeze, what about before that?
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:05:45 PM)
well , a bar on YM getting out of the lateral on the bottom. that surprised me somewhat.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:06:18 PM)
also in order for p3 up to form I always draw a tape down that has to be broken. It never was (ES)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:06:47 PM)
ES price also never left its down channel
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:07:31 PM)
100% true. I had a wrong channel
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:07:39 PM)
(drawn differently)
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:08:35 PM)
so 15:00 is the ftt then
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:10:38 PM)
ok here you are again, same formation
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:10:51 PM)
yes but more confident now
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:10:57 PM)
what did you learn THIS time, you didn't see last? :D
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:11:38 PM)
I steepened my channel too quickly and "forgot" about the original one.
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:12:05 PM)
and the original one was one I really had to draw. the steeper one is just optional
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:15:49 PM)
now we see decreasing black on the ES. Decreasing black is lateral movement in an UP channel, no problems there. But it is ALSO retrace of a down channel. One must consider both possibilities when trying to 'hear' the market speak
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:16:12 PM)
and make sure we have a correct down channel drawn in
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:16:21 PM)
just in case
Haroki (Jun 11, 2007 3:16:34 PM)
what time bars are you using for your down?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:16:46 PM)
if not needed, one can always delete it later - in this way your 'mind' is in the correect place to consider ALL data
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:17:19 PM)
original 14:10 and 14:25 pts 1 & 3 down
Haroki (Jun 11, 2007 3:17:42 PM)
got it, thx.. me too
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:18:32 PM)
if you KNOW the possibilities, you can' freak out
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:18:46 PM)
and now that you have price breaking RTL on increasing it all makes sense
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:18:56 PM)
now repeat the process as the enxt bar forms
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:19:03 PM)
on and on over 81 bars
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:19:55 PM)
You might feel 'meantally drained' at first until you get sued to it, so take breaks if need be
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:20:05 PM)
but eventually, it will just 'click' into palce
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:20:17 PM)
i was 'drained' at 1030
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:20:19 PM)
lol
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:20:30 PM)
stayed up late watching f1
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:20:45 PM)
Spy do you have many "washes" during a given day?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:21:05 PM)
yes
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:21:12 PM)
I even have losses now and then
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:21:16 PM)
soemtimes I make errors
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:21:28 PM)
quickly fixing errors is what keeps my occassional loss small
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:21:32 PM)
sure but what's the % of washes vs trades that do work out?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:21:51 PM)
few washes compared to many trades
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:22:02 PM)
but no reason to keep track
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:22:13 PM)
it isn't a metric for determining if you 'get it'
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:22:17 PM)
es fbo now?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:22:48 PM)
does buying an island determine 'you got it'? :)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:23:15 PM)
LOL
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:23:42 PM)
boy, sure was a straight forward learning day today in chat, wonder why LS didn't show up?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:24:14 PM)
i was sure he was gonna brag about holding his es position over the weekend
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 3:24:19 PM)
he's adjusting his 11 monitors
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:24:24 PM)
I cannot place enough emphasis on the fact that my profits result less from my skills as a trader, than my ability to 'see' the market faster. Its a binary thing, you 'see' it or you don't once you do see it you can't go back to not seing it
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:24:53 PM)
how are u handling theis last bo of upchannel Spy?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:25:01 PM)
dn channel
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:25:10 PM)
so understand it doesn't mean I am BETTER, it means the light switch is On vs light switching being OFF
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:25:39 PM)
the BO down I have in as an FBO bug
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 3:25:41 PM)
i think I need a new light bulb :(
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:25:48 PM)
lol
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:26:16 PM)
as it happened just above an olive colored (longer term) up channel and returned to the shorter term (neon green and neon blue) channels from which price broke (colors added for review later)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:27:00 PM)
its like a carpenter learns to hammer a nail correctly, once learned the process is repeated 1000's of times
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:27:01 PM)
was thta a wash, i lost a pt in that
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:27:02 PM)
same here
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:27:19 PM)
once you learn to anticipate and evlauate corectly, you simply repeat the process 81 times per day
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:27:20 PM)
eevry day
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:28:25 PM)
had you been long then eys a wash would have worked, had you been short a hold and reverse would have worked - all depends on the orientation at that FBO bug
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:28:56 PM)
oops, wrong window :)
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 3:29:35 PM)
or did he mean "tick"?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:30:13 PM)
oh yea, maybe
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:30:23 PM)
ya think I meant tic :D
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:30:25 PM)
sorry
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:30:36 PM)
a tic is a bug
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:30:43 PM)
yes Tick (just scrolled back to see who iw as talking to LOL)
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 3:30:48 PM)
:D
CFerret (Jun 11, 2007 3:31:03 PM)
k i' done for today, cya everyone!
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 3:31:19 PM)
gd night
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:31:41 PM)
cya CF hoped it helped
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:31:43 PM)
today
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:32:53 PM)
spy, do u use the dynamic or static DOM?
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:32:58 PM)
on ninja
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:33:16 PM)
The one that Moves (think they call it super DOM
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:33:28 PM)
dynamic Super DOm or soemthing like that
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:33:32 PM)
ok
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:33:38 PM)
"the ladder"
R/R (Jun 11, 2007 3:33:38 PM)
turbo
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:33:55 PM)
ES Price broken through three RTl's of up channels just now
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:34:14 PM)
set that one up today on the recording screen, to review the ladder later
Avi 8 (Jun 11, 2007 3:34:36 PM)
the PnL is distracting sometimes tho
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:34:39 PM)
took a while but this fbo worked and got the pt back, when in this trade and a str happens, what action do u take. I assume we stay in the forest
guavaman (Jun 11, 2007 3:34:44 PM)
Spy u use Ninja Trader?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:35:15 PM)
YEs for its DOM I use ninja
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:35:36 PM)
spy, just for clarification. I thought you said RTL BO on ES at 15:15 happened on increasing black?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:35:57 PM)
tictrade, did you recieve the STR when you were enar a trend line or when ES Price was in the midle (meaning not near a Trend line) of the channel?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:36:17 PM)
it did on my chart
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:36:25 PM)
bar to bar
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:36:27 PM)
not overall
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:36:45 PM)
it was mid channel so I ignored it
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:36:53 PM)
so I fanned out the down channel (from orange to red ) again colors for later review
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:37:16 PM)
ok, but that doesn't mean we cannot get a fbo on next bar right?
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:37:17 PM)
and that is what you should tdo tic, we only go down the rabit hole at or near trend lines
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:37:25 PM)
correct
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:37:37 PM)
ok thx
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:01 PM)
this has been a great session in the chat. I'll have to thank LS for now showing up
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:02 PM)
FBO vs BO means did it leave, decreasing or increasing = do we need to fan or not
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:11 PM)
if it leaves the channel then comes back we have an FBO
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:15 PM)
is just the way I do it
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:40 PM)
I meant not showing up (LS)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:40 PM)
but we don't KNOW price is coming back until the next bar (future) becomes the present (now)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:56 PM)
15:20 price returns
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:38:58 PM)
ok, so you reversed at the end of that 15:20 bar
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:39:18 PM)
no before (when i see increasing red PRV)
ivob (Jun 11, 2007 3:39:35 PM)
ok. had that bar been low volume would you have held?
ticktrade (Jun 11, 2007 3:39:37 PM)
is there a tool we don't have to help avoid the whip, even when I saw prv change I ws neg.
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:39:38 PM)
if by end you mean bottom ebd if you meant top end then yes)
Spydertrader (Jun 11, 2007 3:40:16 PM)
