There is nothing to recomend this firm. The earlier comments that they do not have their act together is an understatement. They assign an account manager who is uncontactable, there's weeks and weeks of delays to make a withdrawal. They don't respond to call,s emails, faxs, and yes they do "seem to think that it's our privilege to have an account and the standard answer to any question about the services is 'your problem is your own fault and we can't help you'.

There's a simple reason why they sold out to Scotiabank.
They were getting killed by the competition. |

My mother wanted to try some trading, with my help, but she wouldn't open an account with any firm that didn't have CIPF protection of the funds. I found out that TradeFreedom had been purchased by CIBC and she felt comfortable with them, so we opened an account. This firm does not have its act together. The software is simply 10 years behind the times. Connectivity is intermittent. The firm opened a joint account for us but were subsequently unable to understand that both parties had access and trading privileges; their systems were apparently not 'set up' to recognize joint accounts. After trying to tell me that I had done something wrong, they finally admitted that they would have to fix their own problems.
The staff seem to think that it's our privilege to have an account and the standard answer to any question about the services is 'your problem is your own fault and we can't help you'.
I have had accounts at several brokers and I haven't experienced staff this arrogant. I recently opened accounts at IB and their support is very good compared to TradeFreedom. Needless to say, I opened an Advisors account at IB and brought my Mom's business to them. |
