Initially I had some issues, which which turns out was due to a restriction of upload bandwidth by my IP provider. The Lightspeed tech support was helpful in assisting with an immediate solution to the problem. Excellent support. Combined with esignal, there are none better. Lightspeed easily links LS to esignal. The only upgrades needed imo would be if esignal linked in reverse to LS. And if the recently implemented trailing stops could be activated by hot keys. |

Still the best active trading platform around. It is nice to be able to call a team of intelligent hardworking people with industry experience who can help me if necessary. Congrats again Lightspeed, I refer people to you guys all the time. |

I had high hopes when I opened my account with Lightspeed. It is so hard to find a broker with everything I want, and Lightspeed seemed like they did.
Their client crashes with an invalid access in busy markets, particularly at open. Happens on two different state-of-the-art quad cores under both XP and Vista, either ATI or Nvidia. I've looked at this 100 different ways and tried 100 different things. Eventually I found two smoking guns pointing at problems near their servers during busy market hours.
They denied this as a possibility and told me to get a new ISP. I have a fiber connection which is 100 Mbits both directions. My ISP has proven itself to me, but that is beside the point. Even if my ISP was causing the problem (it isn't), does that somehow make it ok for the trading platform to write a crashlog and hang?
As a plus, I could always reach someone on the phone. Never anyone who knew enough to help though.
The bottom line is that these guys put tons of effort into shifting blame instead of fixing problems. As a company they don't know which hand is feeding them. They can do no wrong, and say they have never heard of anyone having any problems. This doesn't seem right because I keep running into people with problems and I'm not in their tech support! |

This is an up-and-coming star in the direct access world. I currently use their services through a subsidiary and have found them to be excellent. I do experience occassionally lost connections from time-to-time but think it has to do more with my Internet provider. The program quickly regains a connection without any major problems. For those individuals who are experiencing freezing, make sure you meet the computer requirements for the platform. You need the latest (C2Duo or C2Quad) computers to run their Lightspeed platform. I think their commissions are good but I'm not fond of their remove liquidity fees. Their commissions are low but you have to add liquidity from time-to-time to prevent them from eating away on your profits. Overall, if you're looking for low commissions, a great platform, and direct access, this is the way to go. |
