If your an active trader stay away from Schwab! They are totally pigeon holing the active trader and could give a flying rats ass less.
Goodbye and good riddens you spineless uneducated sorry excuse for a broker! Trading with Schwab as an active trader is like embracing communism with open arms.
I will be extremely nice and leave it at that! |

CyberTrader was a stand alone broker that ran as a seperate subsidiary to Schwab with its own rules that were terrific for trading. A seamless 13 hours of trading availablity, .006 cents per share commissions with no ECN fees, 4%+ interest on uninvested cash, with terrific order routing options, terrific software, and an unmatched level of knowledgable customer service. Schwab has/had their own active trading program independent of Cybertrader. In December of 2007, Cybertrader was shut down by Schwab. Fees & interest paid are much different for Schwab's Active Trading program than Cybertrader customers enjoyed. Unique features to Cybertrader don't exist in the Schwab software. It was truly a different broker. RIP Cybertrader. There's no reason to even have the broker ratings for Cybertrader anymore. A new one should be started for Schwab since the CT recommendations in this thread were for CT & not Schwab. |

The worst trading platform I have ever seen. I just do not believe any active trader could/would use this piece of software knowing there are other options out there. |

I decided to give CyberTrader a try this year because I had heard good things about it. CyberTrader was great...however, they were greedy and I was switched to StreetSmart. The integration process is not seamless, and the adverse effect on my day trading efforts is unacceptable. The fills are lousy, after they finally fill, it doesn't break down the execution price it just shows total value and quantity, and don't even try to get customer service on the line during trading hours. I had my misgivings but my old platform at Cobra Trading but now their CobraIQ platform is light years ahead of this piece of #%*$. Schwab you should have left well enough alone. |

I wanted a back up broker to my main trading platform Interactive Brokers, one with good research, on line CD purchasing etc. I selected Schwab as they were offering what I thought was a good platform, charts and news, Street Smart Pro.
It's been 1 year now and I have been plagued with numerous log-offs (sometimes several times per day, sometimes no problem for days) but this morning was the "mother" of all problems, could not log into Street Smart Pro for the first 20 minutes of trading. Dug out numerous support numbers and finally found out it was a server issue on their side. I run IB TWS on my other computer and it has been rock solid.
With trade costs varying from $ 9.95-12.95 trade and the problems described above Street Smart Pro is NOT ready for prime time. Avoid!
