Traded with Alliance for 4 months now and for the most part, I haven't had any problems with them. They have a live internet Instant message service where you can talk to a Custmer Service rep at any time which is nice. The DAStrader software is pretty fast and stright forward, I've never really had a problem with it.
The only downside to trading with Alliance is that their commissions are on the high side. Even with a reduced commission setup that I had, I was still paying $21 for a 100 lot round trip. Also, they charge you $25 to receive wired funds and $55 to wire funds back to you. I can say that I had no problem sending and receiving money though.
To sum it up I would say that if you want to day trade with less then $25k, they are the only game in town as far as I know, but you will pay for that privilege. |

I would recommend these guys. I was hesitant at first, since they are based in another country, but this allows them to offer day trading at any price, not the $25K limit the U.S. has. They offer stock shorting, and will go out of their way to get the stock for you to borrow. Limit orders cost nothing extra (Scott Trade adds another $4 for limit orders), and they offer stock purchases at $0.01/share, with a $5 minimum. |

The best thing I can say about them is that they are the ONLY retail broker I know of that allows you to day trade multiple times each day with under $25,000 in your account. The commissions are on the high side, but they will lower them somewhat if you email them and ask. Their level 2 software is pretty good, it definitely executes very fast. The service/support is friendly and helpful. Basically they let me day trade everyday and give me 4 to 1 margin even though my account is only funded with about $6,000 currently and that is the main reason I use them. |
