I switched to GFT from FXCM because FXCM only offered a few pairs. The ability to leverage even 10,000 at 400:1 is nice (most other brokers let you go 5K@400:1 tops). Platform is not very polished but stable. Other than saxobank, I don't see which other retail broker offers as many pairs as GFT, so if a number of pairs is important to you, this one is a keeper.
I recently moved to GFT and it's the smartest thing I've ever done. Their service level and professionalism is pretty amazing. The platform is sophisticated and the charting you trade directly on is more than adequate for my needs. The spreads are generally reasonable, but the instruments I trade (Eur/Usd and Dow) are great at 2 each which is why I have rated them 5 in this category. It doesn't get much better than this. I highly recommend GFT.
Their platform is decent, but is lacking features. Their support is good. (although I didn't need much assistance) They answered the phone promptly and provided deposits and withdrawals in a timely manner. Their spread is competative for a bucket shop, but intolerable. Taking 3+ pips on every trade is $30-60 per trade...crazy
I trade fx on the small time and even with my small account the support people are sooooo nice. Its simply amazing. The platform is great and works nicely. GFT is def my top choice when it comes to fx trading.
Overall GFT is a good well rounded company. You can also look into any complaints or compliance issues with them through the NFA website. They are overall professional and to the point. Any questions I had were answered in a timely fashion and I would recommend them any time.
