Vadym Graifer explains how to use price and volume to read charts (the "tape") of stocks. No other indicators are being used. He explains 5 different setups very thoroughly. These setups actually do work. Having a reputation as Scalper he mentions scalping only briefly. Still with the setups you only make a couple of ticks, but no points. The chapter on psychology is very use- and helpful.
His book tells you ONE way to read charts. With Market Profile or Eliott Waves or Indicators you have more ways to read into markets. I've found it very useful to see a bigger picture.
While I think the setups are very profitable (I do use some them myself) I advise the reader to use them only as an addition to your current strategy. This book is for daytraders of stocks only. |

the first third or so of the book is about psychology, and moving from a world of russia to north america. the rest covers setups which are essential to an intraday trader, and how to get OUT into panic buying and selling.
the "tape" of years ago tends to be more reflected in the charts, although one can use time & sales to mirror what the tape used to be.
one of my favorite trading books of the last 10 years. |

I understand the disappointment. It's not pure tape reading via time and sales. Wyckoff was one the best and plotted his observations via price and volume which this book is all about. I would say tape reading in a different graphical form, ie. price and volume charts, not time and sales. Definitely worth the $$$. |

The book's content is great. However, I bought the book for tape reading. It covers volume, price and pace but no real tape reading techniques.
The title for me is a misnomer. |
