This book provides interesting data of the success of different patterns. Nothing more nothing less. So not a beginners book, but fulfills a need. |

I learned a lot of patterns but the trading techniques are not worth much. You better have a hefty account to tolerate his "throwbacks" in his trading techniques. The book is a reference for a long term investor not a day trader. It gives you a guide to patterns as stated but please do not spend $70+ to get it new. Get it used if you want to try to learn a whole bunch of stuff that is of little use if you day trade. |

This book is great, giving information from his past testing on many different chart formations. Yes I agree without the ability to automate the scanning this book is not very helpful -- but you can download software the author developed (and I assume that he used to write this book) for free from:

I wish he'd post the source code, but given the cost (free!) the software is amazing, and it's extrremely fast. I just wish it wasn't a DOS based program. |

I bought the 2nd edition of this book and it pays for itself several times over right on the day it arrived . Highly recomended. |
