This book is great read for daytraders and new daytraders of stocks. Lukeman explains the basic use and understanding of technical analysis and fundamental informations. So it's great for readers of MarketWatch or Investor's Business Daily! It doesn't necessarily give you an edge. But the Moving Average Strategy for example is a setup that you can backtest. Then tweak it to fit your liking and personality. (btw fundamental numbers are backtestable too.) The MA strategy is more for stocks than for futures or forex because of the smoothness of the 1 cent/tick. I still use it today (this book was written in the 90s) but don't make it your only trading strategy. Learn other strategies as well.

I've been trading for about 10 months. I read this book halfway through my second month when I was down a good amount. I immediately turned my month around and haven't had a down month since. This book makes it click. |

Great book, goes through all the basics: fundamentals, technicals, psychology, risk management, price discovery... do's and dont's... Real easy to read.
Good way to spend $25... |

I think the negative posters have pretty severe trading problems of their own. Josh here has written one of the easiest and simple ways to understand the markets and trade them. I have enjoyed using an 8MA for years and he puts the nuance of it in clear perspective. In fact he puts alot of trading techniques in clear perspective. This is what beginning traders need to hear. A confirmation of certain things their doing right with the added benefit of the refinement Josh adds to them. They also need to know what their doing wrong and he clearly lays it out for them. Most unsuccessful traders (if they can swallow their pride)can take this book and apply it to their trading regimen. If they can drop the bad habits and actually do what he says will be very much ahead of the pack in understanding the bottom line. Making money. Found it refreshing. I've been trading over 20 yrs and have learned through hard knocks that the simplest strategies and tactics work the best for timing trades. Josh nails it, and I'm indebted to him after reading his excellent work. I have personally made several corrections to my own edge that has proven very beneficial.

If your starting out and been knocked around a bit or if you've been losing...I mean trading for a year or two without a mentor or direction, you'll find this book a great value. Buy it, you won't be sorry. |
