the biggest value of this book lies in the throughout classification of trader types. It goes into detail regarding their motivation, interaction, strategies.

The book also describes technical and regulatory exchange rules and their effect on trading strategies, not only for equity markets.

Researchers may find great value here as well.

Many different topics covered in this book, but it helps to give you a picture of how the market works. If you want to examine all the little pieces of the puzzle and expand your knowledge, this is worth it.

I got this book as a magnaminous gesture from IB...sent to the Great White North for free. True to form I had to pay 20 bucks in tax and duty because of the way they filled out the export forms. Great little anecdotes pepper the content and it is a worth while read that graced the vanity in the washroom for a season. I am hoping that the next time IB gets the Christmas spirit that they will send me a toaster.

Thank you Baron for adding this book, as per my request.

Although you won't learn the details of any trading strategy, per se, this book offers much more than its somewhat non-inspiring title suggests.

You will learn about the various types of speculators and liquidity suppliers and what makes them tick.

This 600 page book covers informed traders, order anticipators, bluffers, market manipulators, dealers, spread traders, block traders, value traders, arbitraguers, buy-side traders.

It also covers market structures in great detail.

If you love trading but lack knowledge outside your own area, this book is a real eye-opener and a truly relaxing read.
